About this property

Rustlers Draw cabin in the pasture

On the vast open ranges of yesteryear, rustling was a serious problem and punishable by hanging. At its peak, one of the largest ranches in the Texas Panhandle had over 150,000 head of cattle and a thousand horses. Obviously, thieves could drive stolen livestock miles away before a rancher learned he had animals missing. Rusticity is the theme at this lovely two-bedroom hideout situated on open prairie with expansive views of Palo Duro Canyon. Informal, yet active in interpretation of the ranch land. Welcome to Doves Rest Rustlers Draw Cabin!

Why they chose this property

Our Rustlers Draw was built to compliment our new Two Story Farmhouse. This rustic build looks like a barn on the outside with luxury accommodations on the inside. This two bedroom/two bath is situated on the highest point of our Longhorn Cattle ranch. Rustlers Draw takes in views of the Palo Duro Canyon State Park from a distance, along with the abundance of wildlife, and our very own Texas Longhorn Cattle roaming the field. The sunsets are just magical from both the back & front patio of this cabin.

What makes this property unique

Off the beaten path and outside of mainstream destinations, we’re far from every other place to stay. We deliver an amazing guest experience that is truly authentic Texan, personal, and character-rich. Doves Rest Cabins is truly a unique base camp from which to explore one of the world’s most transformative spot – Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

Doves Rest Cabins is ideal for travelers who believe small is beautiful, and see travel not as something one does, but rather identifies it as part of who one is.

If private and quiet surrounded by nature with friendly wildlife nestled in your own little world only a few minutes away to the second largest canyon in America interests you, then you’re in the right place!
