Recently updated with carpet, paint, granite counter tops, smart TVs, and 2 updated bathrooms. Stainless steel appliances, teak cabinets and new upstairs lanai furniture.

Poipu Sands offers the only heated pool in Poipu Kai's 70 acre resort community. Poipu Sands is always a favourite among returning visitors of the south shore of the Garden Island of Kauai. Other amenities include gas/electric BBQ Grills, tennis courts and greenbelt walking paths from Shipwrecks Beach to Brennecke's Beach. Enjoy happy hour at Kalapaki Joe's Restaurant which is located right in Popiu Kai or taking a stroll to Brennecke's Restaurant for an evening dinner with live music. Only issue we had was no information book in the unit, no checkout instructions, and no local property manager. Place was lovely.

Five Star Condo

We very much enjoyed our stay in this condo, which is well located, very comfortable and nicely updated. The condo has a nice view of the ocean (although across a parking lot) and is within easy walking distance of Shipwreck Beach in one direction and a great spot to watch the sunset in the other. It's a quick drive to other beaches and shopping. The pool, which is large and surrounded by landscaping and loungers/umbrellas, is nearby but not close enough to be noisy. The condo is well furnished with comfortable beds, sofas and patio furniture. Beach towels were provided and there's a closet with beach chairs, coolers and other beach equipment. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, with lots of dishes, pots and pans and very sharp knives -- but no dish towels. It appears the kitchen is emptied out after each stay, so plan to restock if you want to cook. You should bring soap, shampoo, tissues, etc. because those bathroom amenities are not supplied. The condo complex is well landscaped and maintained. The other guests were generally respectful, but there was some early morning noise from children and chickens roaming the complex. Compared to other condos we visited in the complex, this condo is nicely updated. The kitchen is open to the dining and living areas and easy to navigate. The kitchen and bathrooms have granite counters and showers have newish tile and showerheads. We highly recommend this condo for a Poipu vacation.

Just The Best

This is my second stay and will be booking for next year. The location is perfect, close to everything Poipu has to offer. Loved seeing the turtles on the beach at sunset. Cocktails at Hyatt's SeaView Terrace always fun. Many hiking options out the condo door. Shopping, restaurants, beaches close by. Condo equipped w beach chairs, etc. Just the best!

Poipu Townhome with ocean view

An older unit but lovely property, with a great ocean view, and a short walking distance to the beach. New patio furniture (delivered during our stay). Ceiling fans and efficient floor fans for each of the 2 bedrooms. The owner was not in town but responsive. Stop at Walmart on your way over, the owner "stopped doing(supplying ) the small shampoos and washing soaps about a year ago to eliminate waste. Guests usually bring their own toiletries for their stay." The supply of soaps ln the condo is based on the leftovers and good graces of the previous guest(s). This is a minor issue but an unexpected annoyance and expense.

We always loved Kauai, and after a year of living in COVID we decided we needed to spend more time on the island and do more of the things we want to do in life rather than just work! Hence we bought our first home in Hawaii! We live in PA, USA and also have a VRBO property in Whistler, BC so we're experienced VRBO participants. We love both locations and enjoy spending time there and being active in the outdoors. We hope you'll enjoy our homes as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

We love going for an evening cocktail after a day at the beach or golfing the local courses so we wanted a location which offered beautiful sunrises and a short stroll to the Hyatt to enjoy their magnificent bars. We love the lush green space and privacy that Poipu Sands offers. Having a heated pool is pretty awesome as well! We didn't install AC as we found the trade winds from the ocean makes this home comfortable and relaxing. There is nothing like going to sleep at night and listening to the waves....

What makes this property unique

Our condo has been nicely updated with granite and new tile. Since we purchased the unit in 2021 we updated some of the furniture, a new Smart TV, new lighting, new dishwasher, new linens and more. We wanted to make this home as pleasant as possible so your experience is as memorable as ours.
