We just completed our project at Sunset Poipu with brand new air conditioning units in every room! You are invited to enjoy this fresh and well-appointed oceanfront home.

The interior of our home is surpassed only by its setting. Sunset Poipu is located on Kauai’s South Shore—the sunny side of the island. Specifically, our island home is located in Poipu, in what many consider the most desirable vacation spot in all of Kauai.
Positioned literally 35 feet from the ocean, enjoy unbeatable views without ever leaving the lanai (or the dining nook, or the living room, or the kitchen, or the master bedroom, for that matter). Notably, the multi-million dollar homes planned for the neighboring Kukuiula development have nowhere near the views that are yours here. Experience oceanfront living at its best at Sunset Poipu.

Ocean getaway

We stayed here with friends and had a really great time. The location is very central to the South Island and easy to get to. And that view! It’s like the ocean is in your backyard. Only 50 ft away with sea turtles, surfers, and sailboats! Beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked and the living room is perfect for 4 adults. We’ll be back!

Excellent in every way!

This was by far the very best place to stay near Poipu Beach. Completely ocean front we could watch surfers from our lanai and hear the waves crashing. The host was very responsive and all accommodations were great :-) also very conveniently located to several beaches. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much!!

best ocean view ever

great to hear the ocean while falling asleep in the bedroom watch the sun rise from the Lani walk over to the Beachhouse Restaruant to watch the sunset, take a walk to swim in the ocean and then repeat all of the above the next day

Really great view !

This condo was in an excellent neighborhood. Very safe for walking and very close to stores, restaurants, etc. There were beaches on each side of the condo complex for swimming and snorkeling. The condo itself was clean and well equipped with a retro vibe, sort of like a 70s vibe in terms of decor. The shared laundry facilities are very close - just down the hallway. Definitely can’t beat the views.

Beautiful Home and Views

Very beautiful home with views that will take your breath away. The only thing that prevented me from giving this property 5 stars is that both beds in the downstairs bedrooms were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The master bed was great, as was everything else. Just as advertised.

Great location, right on the water. We saw a sea turtle from the lanai. Well equipped unit, better than most. We were glad to have the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler available.

Spectacular view

The view was spectacular. The waves were mesmerizing. Sunrise & sunset every day. All as good or better than advertised.The kitchen, while not gourmet, was far better than many other vacation rentals we have visited.The bed was comfort.Our main concern was the quality of the furniture. Being in our 70’s, we have some aches and pains that required pillows & cushions for extra support. This should not be a concern for younger, fitter guests.Overall, a pleasant stay priced appropriately.

Perfect Location

Beautiful ocean view, overall a lovely property. I'd have given it a 5, but 2 fans, one in the bathroom and the other in the bedroom were extremely noisy. The smaller bedroom doesn't get good circulation, like the master, so the use of that fan would have been appreciated, but was impossible to sleep through. The bathroom fan was so bad, and attached to the light switch so impossible to turn off if you wanted light, that I showered in the dark.

What an excellent VRBO! Such a spacious place, very clean and exactly as described in the listing. The deck is amazing, the view spectacular. We watched whales all morning, then the turtles in the evening.

Family vacation

Beautiful view of the ocean as advertised - very friendly and calm condo complex. Easy access to both west and east shore activities and sight seeing. More beach towels would be helpful for a family of four. You can’t go wrong with this place as it is very enjoyable and scenic.

GREAT LOCATION WITH PRICELESS VIEW

Listing is definitely accurate. The view at this property is amazing. We saw dolphins and turtles along with a daily dose of surfers. Conveniently close to restaurants and beaches. Loved being able to see and hear the ocean from the bedroom.

Great view and location. Very clean unit will all supplies needed. The wall A/C units need instructions. Could not keep it cool at night with the units stopping-had to throw the breaker every time to reset. Remotes did not work well. Sofa needs replacing as well as the mattresss in the master.

Amazing

To sit on your patio and watch sea turtles and surfers, it was just amazing. The location was great , not just view, but walkable to some great restaurants and shops. Good starting point for the whole island experience. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I would love to come back.

Spectacular spectacular view!!!!

One of the most amazing views we’ve ever experienced! Fell asleep to natural white noise of the waves crashing on the rocks every night. Woke every morning to surfing entertainment on our balcony. Walking distance to all different types of amenities and beach access. I will definitely be bringing my little family next time.❤️

Poipu Kauai

A nice apartment ON ON ON the water. We were on the third floor and could see turtles all day long. They were especially entertaining up close at high tide. It is a hot surfing spot and that was fun too. This was our first time in Poipu. We usually stay in Kekaha. To Poipu location proved very convenient with easy access to the entire south shore from Polihale to Kapa’a. I’d stay there again.

Unbelievable view

Perfect location and view from the balcony is priceless. We walked to baby beach and watched beautiful sunsets at Lawai beach right outside the property. Cons: contacted property manager and others upon arrival because we couldn’t figure out air conditioning and received no response. Luckily, we figured it out. We learned we couldn’t return after 9 at night and expect a parking spot in the lot. I think people attending celebrations at The Beach House next door were parking in the lot.

Amazing Views - does not get better than this!!!!

If you are looking for a true Hawaiian experience, this unit is given an A++. From the first step in the door, the condo was true to its description. You will be amazed with the view of the ocean - doesn’t get any better. We watched whales from the lanai, watched a monk seal swim right in front, experienced a school of spinner dolphins jumping in and out of the water (that was amazing) and then to see the endless amount of sea turtles which we watched daily. If that was not enough, we saw an endless amount of sea life while snorkeling at the beach right next to this condo. It was truly a beautiful vacation. I already miss the sound of the waves. You are so close to the ocean - it is mesmerizing. We would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat!

We reside in Denver, Colorado but wish we lived at Kuhio Shores #311! Having rented many different accommodations during our own stays on Kauai over the years, we know some of the little touches we experienced (or wish we had) that make an island visit that much more blissful, and we've tried to incorporate them here.

Why they chose this property

Kauai has always been our favorite island. It's lush, natural beauty, still largely unspoiled, along with it's pace of life, drew us back year after year. Now that our dream of owning on the Garden Isle has finally been realized, we'd like nothing better than to share our island home with you. Although we have stayed all over the island and appreciate its varied splendors, we've found Poipu to offer more sunnier days in which to enjoy all that this special place has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Snorkel Lawai Beach and the bay side of the property--recognized as some of the finest locations on the island for snorkeling. Snuba (hybrid of snorkeling & scuba) off Lawai Beach or Old Koloa Landing, another inlet about ¼ of a mile away, a dive site that scuba divers also frequent. Surf some of the best surf spots on the South Shore located just off the coast behind the building. Turtle-spot every morning & evening, from the lanai or the shore, and share in their serenity as they ride the waves. Follow the yearly whale migration during the winter months. Sunset Poipu is also located in convenient proximity to dining and shopping. Literally next door to the property is the Beach House Restaurant, known not only for its cuisine but its sunset views. Kukuiula Marketplace, an attractive new development less than a mile away, has a Merriman’s, Downstairs Café, Bubba’s Burgers, Lappert’s, and a gourmet market, along with several boutiques. In Old Koloa Town itself, there are two additional markets-- Sueoka’s and Big Save--as well as additional restaurants and an Island Soap & Candleworks store. Traveling southwest on Poipu Road, about a mile after the roundabout is the Poipu Shopping Center, which has Roy’s Poipu Bar & Grill, Keoki’s, Na Hoku Jewelers, Puka Dogs, Whaler’s General Store and, of course, Starbucks. Make the left turn on Kiahuna Plantation Drive, pass the Poipu Shopping Center and go all the way back to the Kiahuna Golf Course to find Joe’s on the Green, a pleasant, casual spot for brunch. Speaking of golf courses on the South Shore, in addition to the Kiahuna Golf Course, less than two miles down from the Poipu Shopping Center, is the famous Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course, the previous home of the PGA Grand Slam Tournament. As you can see, Sunset Poipu offers the ideal blend of natural beauty and convenience. Come experience paradise Kauai-style and find yourself returning year after year as we have!
