Good-not great

The room was fine, good location. The bar/restaurant does open til 4pm and was closed at 9pm when I arrived. The Hilton across the street had a nice bar and restaurant but probably more expensive

Weekend getaway with college aged son

The Beacon Hotel is in a great neighborhood. From the listing I had no idea it was an actual hotel and not an apartment complex, but when I got to the address, was very happy to have a lobby and concierge. We arrived early and the room wasn't ready so they provided us a different room which was an absolutely amazing upgrade to a King suite. The room was far more than I could have ever expected. It had a separate King bedroom, a large bathroom with entrances on either side, a living room with a very comfortable pull out sofa, and a kitchenette. There were more closets than any apartment I ever lived in. Loved the stay and wish I had booked for an additional day or two. Public transportation is nearby. The only complaint was that the communication prior to the stay was terrible. I asked two questions via their "chat"--one about parking which took a few days to get an answer and one about the ability to leave luggage there before and maybe after our reservation--that question was never answered, so we took our chances. The hotel staff was very nice. There is a restaurant in the building but we never got around to eating there.
