Very nice accommodation. Clean, great location, easy check in! Has a washer/dryer combo, full kitchen (although we didn’t use, it was nice to have), nice living room, TV, table and chairs, desk, nice bedroom. A regular coffeemaker with coffee. The only thing that was a minor inconvenience was the inability to adjust the temperature, and at times, it was too cool. I did not reach out to the owner b/c it was minor. I just wore a sweater. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and easily walked to our daughter’s residence six blocks away. We would love to stay there again.
We loved our stay! The apartment was adorable and perfect for relaxing after busy DC adventuring. The location is perfect- a sweet neighborhood with coffee, restaurants, and shops a few blocks away.
Had a great time in DC. The location and cleanliness of the place were great. And it was so nice to have all the amenities a rental unit has to offer over a hotel.
Our stay here was everything we expected. I house is beautiful and comfortable and location is wonderful. The owners were incredibly kind and helped us super quickly and with nothing but kindness. We would happily stay and again!
This property was in the absolute perfect location steps from the Eastern Market stop and lots of choices for restaurants and shopping. Communication with the owner was always prompt and courteous. I highly recommend this place to anyone!
I stayed in unit B which is the underground unit. It was very beautiful and comfortable and it had all the basics. The only thing is that it would be best not to stay there with a baby because it's very noisy (the water heating system was downstairs and the AC was right outside the bedroom window, both very noisy). You could close the window but then you wouldn't get fresh air in. Also the AC could only be controlled in the upper unit, so the guests upstairs turned it on all night. Even though the comforter was warm, the cold air still hit my face and I woke up with a cold. The owner is such a nice person.
The basement apartment was very clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was easy. The host was responsive when asked questions. We spent most of our time outside of the home but felt at home while there. The temperature was comfortable for my spouse. I wore warm pajamas in case it was too cold for me since I get cold fast and I was comfortable. Safe neighborhood and the house was easy to find. We had to circle the block a couple times to find available parking on the street and walk a little ways, but parking wasn’t too hard to find. Closer spots became available later in the evening, but we felt comfortable leaving our car where it was. Kitchen area was clean and the fridge contained with bottles of water. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
My daughter had an amazing month-long stay at this property. The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a long visit. The location was perfect, and everything we needed was within easy reach. What really made the experience outstanding was the property manager—always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. She couldn’t have asked for better service and would happily return.
We enjoyed the stay very much. The rooms were a bit cool for us but the host tried to make it comfortable by covering some vents so the AC was not blowing so strongly. Great location!
Location is right at the Metro which made our sightseeing easy. Restaurants and Trader Joe's are right there. Apartment is nice and clean. Perfect place to crash at the end of the day.
The house was very clean. We have a 4 year old, so the location of this home was a block walk to the marta, cvs, trader joes, starbucks and many more food options. We really enjoyed our stay!
Absolutely Appalling — Avoid at All CostsMy girlfriend and I had an absolutely horrible experience with this Vrbo rental in Washington, DC. We couldn’t even stay one night due to multiple serious issues that made the unit completely uninhabitable. The moment we walked in, we were overwhelmed by a toxic chemical smell—likely from cleaning fluids—which triggered a severe allergic reaction in my girlfriend, including a migraine, dizziness, and near-fainting. No one should be subjected to such an unsafe environment. To make matters worse, there were dead bugs on the ceiling, and exposed electrical wiring in the laundry area that looked neither safe nor code-compliant. The location is also deeply problematic: just a block and a half from a park frequented by homeless individuals (some visibly struggling). The Metro station is in the park and that made us feel unsafe using public transit. We left immediately and notified both the owner and Vrbo. Their response? “There’s nothing we can do.” No refund. No partial refund. The complete lack of accountability from both the property owner and Vrbo is disgraceful. This listing should be removed from the platform, and I would give it less than one star if I could. Do yourself a favor—stay far away from this property and think twice before trusting Vrbo with your travel plans.
We really enjoyed our stay here! It is the perfect location and only steps away from the Metro which takes you to anywhere you want to go.It is a very nice family neighborhood with restaurants and stores all within walking distance. We parked our vehicle in front of our unit all week with a parking permit and we didn’t need to drive anywhere until we left. Our basement unit was just as we expected, it was clean and had everything we needed. We were so glad we stayed here!
Great little place super close to Eastern Market metro and a 1 mile walk to the Capitol. You can take the metro directly to anywhere on the mall. The owner is very responsive.
Great location for us! We will stay here again. I really appreciated the cooffee& coffee pot as well as the tea pot. And the water bottles were great to have on hand. We slept great! The grocery and Eastern Market were so close!
This was the perfect place to rest during our busy days exploring DC! The Eastern Market neighborhood is lovely, with beautiful old row houses, lush trees, and plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Eastern Market itself is a fabulous old market building still in use. The streets outside have open air vendors during the day. Thanks to the location, The most amazing part of our trip was the ease in getting around on the Metro (subway). We took Amtrak to DC, and were able to make it to the Eastern Market stop quite easily from Union Station. From there, we rolled our luggage less than a block away to our place. My kids are still at an age where they cannot do very long walks, but they managed all of this DC experience with ease because of the Metro. Eastern Market is just a ten minute ride from most of the major landmarks and museums, so this also means that as needed, we just hopped back to take a break. Close to Rita’s place are also, notably, Trader Joe’s and CVS (one minute walk) which helped us to manage costs of dining. Inside, the flat is literally and figuratively cool (we traveled in late May) and peaceful. There are two roll away cots so that our kids each had their own very cozy beds in the living room. I’d love to return to DC one day and I would absolutely stay here again. It was truly exceptional, a fabulous illustration to our kids of what it feels like to live in a classic, “real” city. We all loved seeing the sights and retreating to this perfect haven as needed.
We loved the basement apartment. It was perfect for our stay. We stayed in early August with my wife and daughter. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We were close to restaurants and groceries (Trader Joe's). Included with the stay was parking which was great since we drove into town. We parked the car and did not use it again until we left as we used the DC Metro the entire time we were in town. The Eastern Market station is an easy 2 minute walk down the sidewalk. It could not have been easier. The apartment had plenty of room the 3 of us and would have been fine even if our other daughter was able to join us too. Rita and her husband were perfect hosts and they live right next door. Our next trip to DC we will look to stay here again.
