About this property

Hideaway at Harvest Moon Loft

Nestled on 10 serene acres in Western North Carolina, this loft is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. Its cathedral ceiling and open space design allow morning light and mountain views to relax guests inside while enjoying the fresh air and endless walking trails right outside your door.

This get-away is a second-floor open-space concept loft that provides wonderful natural light, immediate access to hiking trails and breath-taking views, while enjoying comfortable and accessible luxury. King and twin beds are fitted with hypo-allergenic finishes and our no smoking or pets policy assures that even those suffering from allergies can enjoy the mountain experience. Flexible dining and sleeping arrangements allow you to be comfortable with a party of six or one.

This loft is amidst a large privately owned native plant nursery which requires constant attention. Mornings and evenings are 100% private with zero unexpected visitors. During the day the property owner will often be in upper or lower fields maintaining the nursery operations and can be available to answer questions or provide recommendations as needed.

This neighborhood is the national forest. The closest occupied houses are >1mile away and leave you to enjoy the sounds of the birds, creeks, and fresh air outside your window. If you're looking for a true get-away, without having to sacrifice convenience, this is it.

There is no public transportation in this part of Western North Carolina. Parking is immediately outside the loft front door and allows for easy loading/unloading. A personal vehicle will be necessary and usually allows for access to these conveniences within 10-20 min drive.

What an amazing time
Let me start with the negative ...if you call it that. I probably would not be able to drive up that hill, but I am a chicken ... it was intimidating. But not for my husband. And Lillian had us well prepared with a map and a video. Now on to the rest of our review- we loved the stay! What a perfect little place - what a great location. The first night, we had the AC on, but the rest of our stay, we left windows and door open to hear the nature sounds. Can you say Frogs and birds :) Our Son and his family came to visit. the kids are 12 and 7. They loved the hiking, the bridge, the fishing, but most of all - the SMORES! We will not hesitate to come back! Owner was so very attentive - checking in to be sure all was Ok and if there was anything else they could do for us. Which there wasnt - they had anticipated everything!

Beautiful cabin and location
This was a cozy cabin with a nice view of the hills and small pond, some trails on the property with some overlook spots. No problems at all! Lovely stay!

Lovely getaway
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hideway at Harvest Moon. The quiet, privacy, fishing pond, and hanging bridge were great. We often stay in the area visiting our daughter at WCU and definely plan to come back. Note: If you plan to cook, you'll find everything you need, but don't bring too many refrigerated or frozen items as the refrigerator is very small.

Peaceful beauty
What a gorgeous property. We opened the door and we’re greeted with the fragrance of pine. Totally natural as the walls are made of locally milled pine. The setting is quiet, beautiful and serene. We enjoyed reading in the the quiet of the loft (I think of it more as a cabin), walking the paths and braving the hanging bridge (did I mention my fear of heights?) Lillian was a wonderful host. Very communicative and ready to answer any question we had. I would stay here over and over again.
