Modern 2.5-room apartment in the basement of an apartment building. The living space is 60 square meters.
Sleeping: Bedroom with a double bed (180x200) and a large corner wardrobe. The living room can sleep up to three additional adults on two single sofa beds, 200x200 and 140x200.
Living area: The living room is spacious and flows into the kitchen with the dining area.
Bathroom: A modern bathroom with a bathtub, sink, and toilet. The fixtures are high quality. (Not wheelchair accessible)
The apartment is located in the basement (cellar) of a two-family house. It is suitable for active, adventurous families who do not spend much time in the apartment. There are no facilities for barbecuing or sitting outside.
Our apartment is not suitable for people with walking disabilities.
Bed linen:
Please bring your own bed linen and bath towels. Pillows and blankets are provided in the apartment.
On request, bed linen and bath towels can be booked as a package for the duration of your stay:
Per person - €15 - one set: bed linen, blankets and pillowcases, and bath towels!
The advantage is that you can exchange them free of charge for the duration of your stay in case of soiling, without incurring any additional fees. It is a kind of flat rate.
Visitor's tax:
Since January 1, 2026, the town of Herbolzheim has been declared a health resort, and we charge our guests a visitor's tax of:
$2.50/day – adults aged 14 and over
$1.20/day – children aged 6-14
Children under 6 are exempt from the tax

Cleaning:
The cleaning fee for the apartment is a flat rate of €50, regardless of the length of stay. This is a final cleaning fee that is included in the rental price. You can expect a very clean and well-maintained apartment. It is very important to us that you feel very comfortable in our apartment—ideally, as if you were at home.

Location:
The town of Herbolzheim (population approx. 10,200) is located on the western edge of the central Black Forest. Conveniently located near the A5 motorway, both Freiburg and Offenburg can be reached in just under half an hour. The vacation and recreation resort of Rust, famous for its “EUROPA PARK” amusement park, can be reached within 10 minutes.
The vacation apartment itself is located in a quiet area on the eastern edge of town in a new development. From here, it is just a 5-minute walk to the outdoor swimming pool, which was renovated in 2014, a supermarket, the Felsenkeller “Dionysos” restaurant, and just a 2-minute walk to a large children's playground. You can also reach the city center in another 10 minutes.
Arrival and departure:
Arrival is possible from 4 p.m. In individual cases, this can also be arranged individually.
The apartment must be vacated by 10 a.m. at the latest, whereby the last day will not be charged if the apartment is vacated on time. It may be possible to vacate the apartment later than this by arrangement. Exceptions are possible by arrangement and depending on the booking status and availability on the day of departure.

* Visit historic towns such as Kenzingen (4 min), Endingen (15 min) on the Kaiserstuhl, Ettenheim, Lahr (15 min), and Waldkirch (30 min) with their winding streets in the medieval town centers and the town walls, some of which are still preserved.
* Visit Germany's largest amusement park. Europa Park in Rust is one of the most visited amusement parks in Germany and is known beyond the country's borders. (10 min)
* Visit the well-preserved Hochkönigsburg Castle in French Alsace. One of the best-preserved castles in Europe. (40 min)

* The line of defensive structures from the Roman Empire runs through the Upper Rhine Plain and in the immediate vicinity of our hotel. These are castles and watchtowers that were built one after the other over hundreds, even thousands of kilometers in a line between north and south within sight of each other and served for communication by means of signals. (Hike along the “Vierburgenweg” trail possible) This is a defensive line similar to the Limes, the Roman border wall, one of the largest defensive structures from the 1st to 6th centuries AD.

* Hiking: The region around Herbolzheim is ideal for hiking. In addition to several hiking routes in Freiamt and the Kinzig Valley, there is also the option of hiking through the Kaiserstuhl. The latter is famous throughout Germany for its excellent wine growing on the volcanic rock and sandstone-formed low mountain range.

* Fishing: For a weekend fee, guests can purchase fishing rights from the Kenzingen Fishing Association. A weekend ticket costs €25. The fishing grounds consist of two large lakes and a 5 km stretch of the Elz river. A blue federal fishing license is required.
