Quaint and quiet

Warm and relaxing stay with a very comfortable bed. Perfect location away from noise yet close enough to visit very historic places. I’ll stay again when time allows and for a longer duration.

This place IS a dream!!!

You have got to experience this wonderful bed & breakfast! The whole experience was just what we were looking for. The location was perfect for all the exploring we had planned to do.. The afternoon we checked in we unloaded and went to dinner a few blocks away and headed to Mount Rushmore for the illumination program. It was spectacular. The next day we explored Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park and even Hot Springs. The next day Deadwood and Sturgis, the next day Spearfish and drove out to Devil’s Tower. All of these were easily accessible from Dakota Dream! Mackenzie served breakfast at 8:00am and after a quick visit with her getting recommendations we were off for the day. At night you can sit by the fire pit and stargaze. One of the greatest trips we’ve taken and Dakota Dream was a highlight. Close enough to everything but had a country feel. Next time we will bring the whole family and use her cabins and awesome glamping A frames.

Hi! I'm Mackenzie Wright, the new owner of Dakota Dream! My infant daughter, Madeline, and I are looking forward to having you stay with us. I was raised in Portland, Oregon around rodeos with a love of horses, hunting and nature. While attending the Devil's Lake Law Enforcement Academy, I experienced and came to love the landscape of the Dakotas. My time in law enforcement was very rewarding, and I've maintained my certification as a North Dakota peace officer and work with my K-9 Able. I enjoy interaction with people of all ages and I frequently use my K-9 Able to educate children and teens about the dangers of drugs.

The magnificent log lodge, the expansive lawns, acres of pine trees, trails, seating areas, and of course the horse boarding all captured my imagination. From the exquisitely decorated lodge rooms to the private log cabin, my guests enjoy a truly special experience. My vision is to share these gems with you and make my dream your reality.
