About this property

The Most Perfect Old Town Key West Location for a Retreat!

The home (also known as Margaux's Hideaway) was built in 1890's, with a farmhouse charm, and porches off of every bedroom. It is light and airy, with gorgeous and comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces. It's perfect for family gatherings, or just a quiet escape. Each room is sunny and bright, with beautiful furnishings and every amenity you could want. The bathrooms are conveniently located and can accommodate larger groups, and now have fabulous Japanese-style bidets. The gourmet kitchen is well equipped, and looks out (via large folding sliding glass doors) on a covered outdoor living space, with chaise and dining table. The pool is just steps further, surrounded by lush tropical plants. Sunbathing here or on the upper deck is a must. In the evening, the large upper deck has string lights- a perfect environment for drinks, dessert, or conversation.

The house AC throughout, WiFi, and TVs with Apple TV in every bedroom.

If you're looking for the real Key West experience, A Thousand Hidden Hemingways is the place. And if you wander around our neighborhood, you just might find some more like minded folks...

About the host

Host profile image
We're Jonathan and Jessie, a family from Portland, Oregon, via Philadelphia and Washington DC. We've found careers in hospitality, where we own The Society Hotels, in Oregon + Washington, but before that we owned a bakery + cafe and solar contracting businesses. In earlier lives, Jonathan was an aerospace engineer and Jessie was an international fencing phenom!. We love travel, learning, and meeting other people. We want to share everything we love about Key West with you!

Why they chose this property

We've been going to Key West for over 20 years, and it never loses it's magic. One of our favorite things is just to wander the streets of Old Town Key West, by bike, or scooter or by foot, and just find all the hidden nooks and crannies and interesting people and places. Our property is in the absolute center of Old Town- close to everything you could want to do. The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away, with its own lane teeming with wild chickens, iguanas, and tropical birds.

What makes this property unique

When you're in Key West, you want to be able to relax, and the funky old houses in Old Town are equipped in many ways to do this- pools, porches, decks, outdoor dining, and yes, air conditioning! But this house has it all- you don't have to compromise. Simply put, this is the best house we've ever seen for a great Key West experience. The rooftop deck at night, with a beverage in hand, string lights glowing, surrounded by the sounds of birds is simply not to be missed!
