This is a beautiful, well kept cabin loaded with amenities, including a nicely stocked pantry, toiletries, towels and linens. The owner also was very thoughtful in having kayaks, fishing poles, and walking talkies for our use.
The only caution, take the description of the off-roads seriously. The cabin is up a dirt road with a steep driveway. At the minimum you need all wheel drive but a truck is even better.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your cabin. We appreciated all the new towels and fully stocked kitchen including paper plates and bowls and spices and coffee and even sriacha and soy sauces! We are foodies and appreciated this so much. Thank you for making the check in and out process so easy for us. We loved having a washer and dryer to use too. You thought of everything and we hope to come back again next summer. Thanks Dan!!
This is hands down the best vacation rental experience we have ever had. Not only was the cabin gorgeous in a gorgeous location, but when Dan tells you it is well stocked, he isn’t kidding. Everything is stocked like you would your own home (probably better!), from the kitchen, to toiletries and linens. It felt like being guests in someone’s beautiful, well-kept home. Dan is wonderful, warm and easy to talk to, making the whole experience fun and stress-free. There are clear directions for everything in the cabin. They have literally thought of everything.
As far as surroundings - it’s hard to beat the natural beauty of the Twin Lakes/Big Meadow/Bridgeport area. There are endless things to do in the area from fishing to hiking to off-roading, etc., but Dan is correct when he says you may just want to spend most of your time at the cabin :)
My parents, my husband and our two young boys stayed at the Hideaway for a week and had a wonderful stay. The cabin is located in a beautiful setting hidden behind pine trees with a stream running behind the property. We were within walking distance of both upper twin and lower twin lake and took multiple walks and hikes a day. The cabin was very well stocked and had everything we could possibly need. Dan was very communicative and made sure check-in and check-out were seamless. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be coming back. 10/10 recommend!
We had the relaxing and fun time that we planned for. The cabin was clean, well stocked and wonderful. The driveway is a challenge but was navigated with 4 wheel drive. The mother in law quarters worked great for separate rooms for the college age men. Everyone loved the comfort of the beds, how soft the sheets were and the towels. Everything that could have been needed was provided. The cabin is well stocked and included extras that you would not think of such as radios to communicate with since there is no cell reception (which is great!). The kayaks were wonderful on the lake. It was hard to leave and come home.
Dan was great to work with and kept in contact through the whole process. He made it so easy.
Everything was perfect. We have never stayed at twin lakes before and it was amazing. The Hideaway makes a perfect base camp to fish, hike and explore. I brought my boat and rented a slip at upper twin lake for the week.
The cabin was very well stocked and spotless. We cooked every meal and were never left looking for any utensil. The sheets on the beds were top notch and same with the bath towels. The internet connection was great for those who need to stay connected. TV had Hulu and Disney + which was nice for the kids.
We will be back again for sure!!
Dan was fabulous to work with. Property was clean and had EVERYTHING you could think of. He even had walker-talkies and waterproof lanyards for us to use!!
One of the best places we’ve stayed. Definitely the most well stocked place and great communication with the property owner. You can absolutely tell this is a well cared for family cabin and not just a rental. Proximity to the lake and hiking trails was perfect. Relaxing with the national forest behind you provided ample privacy and exploring opportunities for kids. Twin Lakes is a gorgeous hidden gem; I don’t want to rave too much so it stays that way, but this really was a great place. We will definitely be back.
This is a very nice cabin. All amenities are there for your use. Peek a boo view of Upper Twin from balcony and loft. Plenty of space. Clean and quiet. Driveway is only downside and owner plans to fix that . Roads in neighborhood are a bit rough. Recommend truck or SUV.
My family of 7 loved our time at the cabin. The location is amazing. The cabin is nestled into the mountain. You can only see one neighbor to the side. Trees and nature all around. Loved the ability to walk to either lake.
The cabin was well furnished and had more than enough supplies and items for our stay. The communication from the owner was great. I felt like I was staying at a long time friends cabin for the weekend. He was very helpful and extremely clear throughout the process.
My family and I will be back and I highly recommend this cabin.
