Breathtaking Getaway

This was the perfect spot for a relaxing escape! The scenery is breathtaking! We enjoyed relaxing under the stars in the hammocks and a beautiful fire by the water. The cabana is perfect for cooking and relaxing. Looking forward to spending more time there next year! Thank you for this amazing experience

Lovely Manitoulin get-away

A lovely, serene off-grid waterfront property made very comfortable in a rustic way. Just what we were looking for to have a close-to-nature camping experience without a tent. Unfortunately the Great Lake was too cold for comfortable swimming in late August. Sarah, the owner, was very responsive, helpful and accommodating. She went out of her way to provide information and make suggestions for our holiday with our young teen grandchildren. The only unpleasant part was driving the last 7 km from the main road to the property due to the very rough unpaved road, which we were forewarned about. Excellent glamping.

Serene and beautiful

The photos don't do this retreat justice. If you are looking to watch butterflies, nature and lapping waves, far away in a quiet setting , then this is perfect! The shoreline is a flat rock that we spent hours on, reading and looking up at the sunsets or moon. You can hike along the shoreline in both directions looking for rocks or just admiring the view, we barely saw people and did not see any boats. As for the cabana we were thoroughly impressed. You felt well cared for and meals were quick and so was clean-up, due to the to attention to details. The fridge was a perfect size, we prepped food in advance and it held it all. Sarah has created many cozy areas to relax in, we were 3 people and we each had our favourite spot. The drive in is slow, bumpy with some areas with pools of water, but hang in there because the final destination is well worth it! It's 6 km of slow driving, taking 30-40 mins the first time. Make sure to get ice before you get there, we got there late and made due for 3 days with our minimal ice from home. Otherwise you can stay there for a week. We will return next year!!

5 star stay a the Rustic Cabana

We truly (me and two other friends) fell in love with this rental. We wanted a quiet vacation to disconnect from the city. As soon as we got to the Rustic Cabana we knew we had rented the perfect place. The location is perfect for a relaxing getaway with the constant sound of the waves from dawn till dusk. The Cabana is quite cozy with the top bedroom looking toward the lake and the stars. The ambient lighting around the kitchen area and resting area make it perfect for enjoying outdoor cooking. The beach is quite an excellent place to enjoy the sun and to stargaze. You have everything you could ever ask for, the shower and the bathroom are newly built and although we decided to use the water from the lake to shower it is available. The bathroom is very clean and well-designed. Sarah (the host), was extremely helpful and kind. She was always available to answer all of our questions throughout the stay. I 100% recommend renting the Rustic Cabana for either a quick getaway or a vacation like in our case (we stayed a full week and really enjoyed it). She made a super helpful guide for you to prepare for your trip which was very helpful. It is worth every penny in my opinion and I honestly couldn't remember the last time I was this relaxed. We are already thinking about booking our next stay. Thanks again for everything Sarah. Sincerely, Thomas

Peace and Serenity

This is a beautifully appointed hideaway. This quiet and peaceful property is situated in a stunning location that leads straight onto the water. We packed everything we would normally would to go camping minus the tent. However, the hostess is so thoughtful and had so many handy kitchen items available that we were more than set up and ready to go. She had thought of everything including batteries and extra lights should you need one. Sarah was an absolutely wonderful property owner and quickly answered any questions we had. It was clear from the standard of the property that much thought and love had gone into her preparations to ensure guests would feel comfortable and have a wonderful experience. The cook kitchen is beautiful and its own feature. It has everything you need to prepare meals including a propane fridge that we found particularly helpful. It is about a 1/2 size fridge that had plenty of room for eggs, bacon, drinks, milk and meat. There were 2 separate areas to enjoy a roaring fire - by the kitchen or out near the water under the stars as well as featuring a propane fire under the cook kitchen in a relaxed living area. We picked a challenging week weather wise so it was particularly thoughtful that Sarah had a bunch of games available for days you might need to stay in or lazy evenings. This property is not as advertised it’s even better. In the evening as the fairy lights flick on, it has such a beautiful ambience that it has to be experienced and can’t be adequately described with words. We really enjoyed our stay there and couldn't more strongly recommend the property. If you are looking for a quiet sanctuary to get away from it all look no further. Although we normally tent it was really nice that there is the cabin with beds and we really enjoyed being able to curl up at night in a bed with a comforter instead. It is a rough last 6 km's in but well worth it. We never saw another person back there and only once heard someone chopping wood way off in the distance. A cheeky chipmunk will make sure to do the rounds daily to see if you have left anything tasty out. If you need water the municipal building by the wharf will let you fill up with their outside tap. The locals are friendly and appear genuinely pleased to have visitors. With our deepest appreciation for the thoughtfulness that Sarah put into everything we absolutely recommend this property.

Secluded paradise

Our kids are 7 and 9, and just had a ball at Silver Water. The description is accurate, the driveway in is long and a little intimidating, first time was a 45 minute drive but we got it down to 25 mins after a few runs in our Rav4. Not that we needed to leave often! The cabana is perfect for hanging out (we strung a couple of hammocks under the eaves and even when we got some rain it was great), the outdoor kitchen is well appointed with everything you need. The kids loved hanging out in the upstairs portion of the bunkie. The bunkie is small (especially with 4 ppl + gear) but we spent next to no time in there. The rocky beach is beautiful, and we saw less than 10 other humans the whole time we stayed (a week). Cold, though! We were there early Sep so our swims were very quick but the water is crystal clear. Sarah does a great job providing info in advance, and the new washroom is beautiful. We used the outdoor shower primarily, but nice to have the option of a warm shower if needed. Sunset campfire on the lakeshore... pretty amazing. If you are looking for a place to unplug and get away, you found it. Totally recommend.
