A/C charming Provencal Cottage in Center Village w/ small Garden & PARKING!

Air conditioned Charming & cozy Provencal 2 levels Cottage completely renovated for 2/3people, with a 25 m2 small garden with outdoor furniture. Located in the center of village of Lourmarin in Provence in the heart of the Luberon. The cottage is a one minute stroll from cafes, boulangerie, chateau, shops, hiking trails, food and flower markets. Fully equipped kitchen to make wonderful meals.

You will find a handbook which contains all the information on the house, as well as our suggestions for special places to see in the region and great restaurants in the area.

Lourmarin, which is widely known as one of France's most beautiful villages and residence of the world known writer Albert Camus. The village is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Luberon, between Aix en Provence and Avignon. The Luberon valley's reputation for its gastronomy, wine and elegant dining now attracts people from all over the world.

Staying in Lourmarin as your base you will be able to take day trips to medieval villages of Gordes and Abbey of Sénanque, the medieval villages of Gordes, Lacoste, Menerbes, Bonnieux, and the ochre quarries of Roussillon.

Antiques market at Isle-sur-la Sorgue on Sunday mornings is a thirty minute drive. Hiking and cycling are great ways to explore some of the most beautiful villages in the wine country.

Not far away, you will find Avignon and the Popes' Palace, Aix-en-Provence, birthplace of Paul Cézanne, with its amazing architecture, spas, art exhibitions and lovely boutiques. There is also Arles, Van Gogh's favorite Roman city, with its Roman Amphitheatre and its cathedral..and let us not forget the protected landscape of Camargue with its wild horses and flamingos.

You will love our Provence as well as the quality of living in one of the most beautiful villages of France.

This cottage is truly charming and feels like being immersed in another time. The garden courtyard was a perfect spot to open a bottle of wine and relax. The location in the center of town offers access to cafes and shops right outside the door. Our host was available and gave great recommendations for visiting towns in the surrounding area. The Friday market is not to be missed.

Wonderful Stay

The house was really nice, cozy, clean and well organized. The owners were quick and prompt to solve problems. Nice to mention that the bathroom is not to close from the room. It was an amazing stay.

The loveliest cottage and hosts

We had an amazing week in Lourmarin at Kris and Thierry’s adorable cottage - it was the perfect base to explore Provence. The little garden was so nice, location was perfect, and the big book of recommendations was very useful! Kris and Thierry were extremely easy to communicate with and very lovely all around. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to return to Provence!

Idyllic!

We really felt like we were in a film and this maison was a big part of that! Also a great location to base yourself when you want to tour around the area overall. 1-1.5 hrs’ drive in each direction from Lourmarin takes you to incredible parts of the region and those surrounding it. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, authentic Provençal home in the heart of lourmarin

Lourmarin is a beautiful village and a great jumping off point for trips to Bonnieux, Ansouis, Apt, Cucuron—-the best of Provence. It was hard not to feel like a local in this charming apartment that is 50 yards from the center of the village and less than that from a first rate Boulangerie Hosts were super helpful!

Charming cool place

Very charming place. We were staying there during a heatwave (36-37c) but hardly used the air condition, the bedroom stays nice and cool all the time. We enjoyed breakfast in the courtyard with the lovely green plants. The cottage is situated very conveniently near the centre of Lourmarin life. Thank you Kristine and Thierry!

A quiet oasis in a lively village

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Situated on the main street, just 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village, yet lovely and quiet. Small but beautiful courtyard/garden. I stayed here partly to work and the reliable internet connection made this very easy to do. Everything was as described on VRBO and everything worked. Excellent communication from hosts. Highly recommended.

Lavendel at Provence

Lourmarin is lovely town in the Provence. Idealy you can go by car to all the other places around the little and grand Lubéron. We went by Train (TGV) to Avignon very comfortably. Rent a car is then rechnendes. The house was nice and Thierry and Kristine, the housekeeper kindly. They helped us to visit more nice places. Mandy Thanks!!

Wonderful Luberon!

Lourmarin is a great little village with an excellent market on Friday & a number of sociable cafes & restaurants & great arty shops. Very helpful hostess. The little cottage is ideally located but is very old fashioned. No smart TV, we had to ask for a boom box so we could listen to music & after rain, even heating the underground bedroom & leaving the window open it was musty smelling. Great little terrace which we enjoyed. Lots of house rules! Helpful but out of date travelling & exploring guide notes. A map & up to date guide book would have been helpful. Super expensive with 3 big add on costs over & above the standard rental cost. Beware!

We appreciate your constructive review and regret that some of your expectations were not met as you had hoped. Regarding the TV, yes, not a smart one but one with international channels and many other features ( we never had any complaints about it as most people don’t come to Lourmarin to watch television). As for the boom box, we are sorry we did not have time to replace it before your arrival. It was broken by previous tenants, and we bough a new one in the next 48 hours after your arrival , as It was obvious that the boom box was about to spoil your entire stay. If the bedroom was a bit smelly when you came, (after the deluge of non stop rainy weeks in Provence) is because you did not follow the instructions we had left. As for the 3 big add costs you are talking about, they are the VRBO fees and taxes added to the rental costs. Not in our control. We regret that you were stressed during your stay by the loss of your purse and iPhone and it has obviously contributed to your daily complaining and dissatisfaction of every small detail of the house. We are however, confident that your impressions of the region and our village life style made up for a memorable trip regardless.

The property is in a fantastic location in Lourmarin just inside the historic district but very easy to get in and out. We were always able to find parking nearby and our host’s recommendations on things to see and places to eat were wonderful and much appreciated. The only reasons I didn’t give it a perfect score were because the bedroom is underneath the living area and accessed by a curved stone stair, while the bathroom, which is very small, is upstairs. I have some slight mobility issues and getting up and down the stairs in the middle of the night to get to the bathroom worried me. The other drawback is that the microwave and washer are very old and not easy to use. I decided not to wash any clothes which was challenging in the current heat wave. Those were only drawbacks for me so if those wouldn’t bother you, it’s a 10.

Lovely Cottage in a Perfect Location in Lourmarin

My wife and I spent a week in Lourmarin in this truly charming and tastefully decorated cottage. The location is right in the village and very close and easily walkable to several delightful cafes, restaurants and a boulangerie. We used Lourmarin as a base, exploring and having lunch in different villages in the Luberon each day and returning to Lourmarin for wine at one of the cafes (Gaby's was our favorite) and dinner at one of the many walkable (from the cottage) local restaurants. Kristine kindly provided us, before our stay, a very detailed list of restaurants in the Luberon villages and throughout Provence as well. She also included excellent recommendations and comments so we could make our reservations well in advance of our visit ,as some of the restaurants (especially local favorites in the Luberon villages) can be difficult to book. In addition, there was a book of recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants put together by Kristine in the cottage and reference travel guides about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage (and yes, the bed is extremely comfortable). Our travels around the Luberon each day were truly magical and we would recommend Lourmarin as the perfect base for exploring the area. The extra effort and guidance kindly extended by Kristine made our trip perfect. We would love to return to Maison Amelie and look forward to doing so in the near future!

Nous avons trouvé une charmante petite maison traditionnelle , à la déco coquette,dans le magnifique village de Lourmarin. En franchissant la porte d’entrée,vous êtes accueillis par un ravissant petit jardin.Surprenant par contre, la chambre plutôt spacieuse se trouve à l’entresol , ce qui lui confère une fraîcheur en permanence, indispensable en période de grosse chaleur !!! La maison est bien équipée, et le contacte avec les propriétaires agréable et efficace .

Französische Idylle

Ein tolles, typisch provenzalisches Haus mit einem traumhaften, kleinen Garten. Dort haben wir immer gefrühstückt. Das Schlafzimmer, weil im Keller des Hauses, angenehm kühl. Würden jederzeit wieder einziehen.
