The devil's in the details
Overall, a fairly pleasant week at a 15th floor condo on Perdido Key.
Check-in was flawless, thanks to everything being keyless. Management company provided the appropriate codes a week before arrival and we were off to the races.
Condo itself is spacious, well laid out, appropriately decorated, and comes with a separate bathroom for each of the bedrooms, which was nice.
Grounds were beautiful, not too crowded, and the three pools we visited--two outdoors, one in--were beloved by our 18 month old.
Some issues we noticed with cleaning included dirty silverware, shower mold, dried urine on the floor of one of the bathrooms, and some questionable stains on one of the mattress covers.
Sleep was average at best. The mattresses were the worst combination of cheap and overly plush, e.g. the edges collapse easily and the well-worn middle sags. My party and I (41M, 34F, 1M, 62F, 60M, 22M, 20F) all left a day early to get back to our own beds.
Smart thermostat is limited to 69°F. Cool: that is a great temperature. Unfortunately, smart thermostat is also on a timer that the end user has no control over, so it will cool down, stop, the condo heats back up, and it then it kicks back on after a few hours. Repeat ad infinium--probably contributed a lot to the restless nights.
Not a lot of genuinely good food or shopping on Perdido Key, just overpriced tourist traps of questionable cost to value. We ended up driving into Pensacola proper (~30 minutes) to eat the night before we left.
