Getting Around:
Casa Beluga is in the perfect location for anyone visiting La Paz without a car. You can easily explore the town on foot and local people are friendly and helpful should you need directions or suggestions.
If you have any tours or excursions planned you can walk to all the local marinas and typical pickup points in less than 10 minutes. Though the Malecón is beachfront you won't find local residents swimming here. I guess you could say we are spoiled for choices. It is however, a perfect spot to launch kayaks or paddleboards, or sit under a palapa to soak in the view. Our stunning beaches all require a little drive out of town or a boat ride to the islands. We can help with car service and boat excursions if you want to visit these beaches. Uber and taxis are also readily available in La Paz and you can make arrangements with your driver for a return ride home.
If you do rent a car, Casa Beluga offers safe and secure shaded parking in the carport for up to two vehicles as well as plenty of easy street parking.
The bus station for longer trips (i.e. Los Cabos) is only 900 meters from the house, and the local buses pick up in various locations around town.
No agenda? How awesome is that! Our in-home guest book is full of much more information and our recommendations for what to do, where to eat, what to see if you're looking for suggestions.
Neighborhood Description:
Enjoy daily walks up and down to the bayfront Malecón and visit all the local eateries, bars, galleries, and shops in the neighborhood. Evening strolls are a must to take advantage of the cool breezes that come after sunset and feel the vibrant night culture...and speaking of those sunsets, they are stunning so we highly recommend taking them in with a cold cerveza in hand from a rooftop terraza along the Malecón. La Paz is a progressive town with something for everyone. From established restaurants, bakeries, and retailers, to new cafes, bars, and craft breweries. Many of these establishments cater to people with dietary restrictions and preferences, and there are several small health food markets in the neighborhood too. With unique food offerings, crafts, and arts, our weekly markets pop up in various places downtown. We encourage you to patronize our local businesses and support the talent and creativity found in so many of them.
