We and our three boys were all born and raised in Alaska. We enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities in all four seasons of this wonderful state. Our home is located in the beautiful foothills of the Chugach Mountains in south-central Alaska.

Why they chose this property

Nestled among 7,000 foot peaks, towering waterfalls, and forests of birch and aspen, the Ram Valley Inn is surrounded by the third largest state park in America, the Chugach State Park. Within a quarter mile proximity to the Historic Iditarod trail and glacier-fed Eagle River, we are located in the Upper Eagle River Valley. We are a convenient 45 minute drive from Anchorage International Airport, 10 minute drive into Eagle River, and 2 hour to the Kenai Peninsula.

What makes this property unique

Minutes away you will find unlimited access to the surrounding half-million acre Park from both the North Fork Trailhead, and the Eagle River Nature Center via the Crow Pass National Historic Trail - one of the more popular local trails, an early gateway into interior Alaska, and historic Iditarod supply route. A multitude of local outdoor opportunities await, some of the most accessible hiking, skiing, camping, wildlife viewing, snow machining, rafting, and climbing. You may also find endless photography opportunities. From valley floor to rim, rugged landscapes are decorated in rock and alpine tundra. Visitors of this area take home memories of high alpine wildflowers, local wildlife, salmon returning up the Eagle River to spawn, soaring eagles, roaring glacier-fed rivers, the howl of a wolf, unrivaled mountainous vistas, sheep and goats grazing the alpine meadows, moose, bears, and the occasional lynx and coyote.
