This is was an answer to a tough situation as to location, accommodations and most importantly the awesome host. A couple hiccups on check in but addressed quickly and satisfactorily.
Good as a fishing cabin, would not bring the family on vacation
Had everything necessary for a fishing trip. Bed mattresses are outdated but better than sleeping in a truck. Not enough hot water for 4 men to take hot showers after a day of getting stinky from fish slim, but clean and quite. Sufficient for our needs.
We had a great visit unfortunately we weren’t at the cabin for very long because we were in town for a weekend but we did have a Wonderful time and enjoyed the cabin and the view off the dock.
This was one of the worst vacations EVER! we were only there an hour before we left. It was a waste of 645.00. We arrived at the property at about 6:30pm, my daughter inboxed Mr.Mills inside the vrbo app at 610 (there aren't any proof of these messages anymore,Mr.Mills deleted them) to let him know we were 20 minutes away. Once we arrived my daughter then went inside the closed in porch to look for the instructions for the lockbox for the key, it was nowhere to be found, she then inboxed him again to let him know that we were there he never responded. My daughter then called to talk to a vrbo representative who was very helpful and also tried to call Mr.Mills who also never answered for her. So she gave me his number and my daughter then text. 50 minutes later
we received an inbox from Mr.Mills stating that he sent me instructions for the lockbox (he did not do this until after we were inside the property) we didnt get the code til we got him on the phone. At 755pm he said he was sending his friend billy to help with the lockbox and to get us the keys.once we got in we did a partial walk through once we did our own walk through we noticed there wasn't a real stove, just a wood stove, a griddle, and an outside grill and utensils and all of it were dirty and greasy, the bathrooms were disgusting one smelled of urine and the linen on all but one of the beds were dirty, the fridge was also dirty and there were roaches.
I wanted to stay on Lake Murray, but close to Lexington South Carolina and this was such a great place! I loved that there were a couple of separate sleeping areas and also two bathrooms! They had kayaks and lifejackets and a beautiful little pier where I sat and watched the sunset. The host is incredible! He answers immediately, and does everything he can to be helpful! This would be great for couples, families, with kids, and people who want private, sleeping and bathroom areas. There’s even a washer dryer combo! This was my first time staying in a tiny home, and I really enjoyed it!
The perfect blend of comfort and rustic, just what we wanted for a weekend lakeside cabin. We roasted marshmallows, took out the kayaks, and best of all was watching the large herd of local deer come by at dawn and dusk!
Was an absolute peaceful place and much needed time from reality. 5 stars for sure! From the peace and quiet to fun on the lake with the family, we will definitely be back! For the owner, top notch two thumbs up! Thanks for the hospitality!
Enjoyed our stay!! Excellent location. Loved the kayaks! Loft a little small but comfortable. If you have back or mobility problems- maybe not for you. Could not connect to wifi. Outdoor kitchen very hot since it was enclosed and had late afternoon/evening sun. Comfortable only in morning and late at night in middle of summer. So keep this in mind if heat bothers you. Did not have kitchen towels to clean dishes. Had to use paper towels. Overall- loved the area and the little rustic cabin.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Slightly Disappointed
From the listing I knew to expect rustic. The outside & the sleeping quarters were as pictured. Seeing that it was an outdoor kitchen I didn’t expect anything glamorous. The blackstone was absolutely filthy & basically unuseable. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned off after several uses. We eventually got it cleaned off enough to use a pan on it. We did not feel comfortable enough to cook directly on it as intended. The wood burning stove required to be sprayed Pam when used, it left a greasy feel all over the kitchen. Due to the listing stating that “dishes & utensils” were provided we did not pack any. On our 2nd night, I realized I couldn’t find the said plates or forks. When I reached out to Jacob, he responded immediately, he told me that they supply cooking utensils & pots & pan, that I should just go to the store to get what we needed. I wish the listing would have been accurate in what type of dishes would be provided. The bathroom in the bunk room was gross. There were more dead bugs in there than you could count on the wardrobe. The shower was gross & looked as tho it either hadn’t been used in forever or not cleaned between uses. Thankfully the bathroom in the loft room was beautiful & clean, we were able to use just that one. The kids raved about how comfortable the beds were & how great they slept. The backyard lead directly to the lake. We spent almost our entire time down in the kayaks & on the dock fishing. There was a fire pit with some weird chairs that we choose not to use. There was also a table with broken seats that we choose to stay away from for safety. The dock was in great shape, we hung out on that the whole time. The “pathway” to the lake was a few pavers, some were cracked &/or had fire ant hills growing on/between them. Not exactly the most useful path to the lake. The kayaks were the best part of the cabin & why we booked this property! Since it was the beginning of the season we had to clean them up a bit to use them, they were covered in spiders webs & yuck from the winter. The life vests had been left out all winter & some of them were just too gross to use. We were able to clean off 2 of them for the kids to use when we went out in kayaks. We brought along our puppy, it’s a very pet friendly type of property. We would not choose to book this property again. If you were going to stay here I would also recommend that you bring everything you’d need because what is provided is not very clean &/or accurate.
We had a blast and it was a great secluded cover for the family to enjoy. The area was nice and quiet even on a weekend. It was in a nice corner where we weren’t worried about boats with people in the water. We would definitely stay again!
Our family visits Lake Murray often and this so far is our favorite cabin we have stayed in yet! This gem is on a perfect spot on the lake with awesome view! We all enjoyed kayaking. The cabin itself has everything you could possibly need for time at the lake. Communication with Jacob was excellent. Can't wait to return! We also started off the guest book and left inside on bar! Awesome place!
Had a great week. Cabin was really cool. Just enough room for a small family.
Stayed late July and family had a blast! Kids caught lots of small fish. Dock was perfect for boat and skis. Cabin was clean and really cool little spot. Would definitely visit again for another fun lake vacation.
Excellent stay!!! We'll definitely try and book again when in the area
My family and I had a great time at the cabin! Everything you could need is included, we're glad we booked the cabin 😃 Jacob is also really cool and helpful. Thanks for everything
This was a great vacation spot on Lake Murray. We enjoyed fishing off the dock each day and escaping the heat when needed in the cabins ac. The kayaks that were provided were fun and gave us another view of the lake. The cabins were very clean, had everything we needed, and communication was excellent. I’d highly recommend to anybody wanting to check out the area, it’s beautiful and everyone was very friendly!
