We had such a wonderful time! We had to call for a couple of small things when we first got there (paddles for the kayak and more towels), but the prperty manager took care of those items immediately. Amazing experience. Couldn't have asked for more.
We had a great time at the HookWine&Sinker. Communication was great with host. Very quick to get back. Rooms are great size and plenty of room for everyone. Nice cove area to swim with nice neighbors, even had a friendly neighbor dog Penny that came to visit. Sitting on the deck drinking coffee every morning was the best! Then winding down after a day on the boat and sitting by the fire was a great way to end the night.
Only complaint is dock was covered in spider webs and very rickety. Did not feel safe on 2nd level. The tvs jad several remotes each, but none of them had batteries in them and we couldnt get the large tv downstairs to work. Disappointed they only supplied the 2 trashbags in the kitchen and that was it for 10 guests. Lots of games to choose from that were fun to play with thw family. Bed was comfortable and bathrooms were very clean.
This house had everything you could possibly want. The kayaks and peddle boat left our 4 kids very happy and because we were in the cove we did have to worry about them getting run down by bigger water craft. The weather was so hot that we stayed in the last 4 days of our stay, but we had plenty to do. The house managers, Les and his wife, were absolutely amazing. We had some hiccups and they were on it. Helpful and quick to respond. We would definitely stay here again.
Game room and our boat rental was the highlight of the trip. Bedrooms are good size. The dock picture listed looking at the cove is not your dock it’s the neighbors. If you have kids wanting to jump off the dock, the water is only about 4’ deep until you’re at least 20-30 yards from the dock. The house is in need of some updating with regards to furniture and overall maintenance.
The accommodations were wonderful! Our family enjoyed being on the water and the beautiful view of the lake. Neighbors were very friendly and local businesses were open and provided great customer service. Highly recommended for another family getaway!

This was our first trip to Lake gaston.
This was our first trip to Lake gaston. We had a great time. The location of the house was wonderful. It was very peaceful back on the canal.
Overall the property was very nice. (With the few exceptions mentioned above). W We had a difficult time communicating in trying to rent the place. Return phone calls regarding the glitch in reserving on the website were hard to get.
When we left the property we tried to call both numbers and then texted to let someone know the door would not lock... Never received a response to phone call or text.
We did get some conflicting info about departure regarding a key that should be left in a lockbox.. But we had no key.
We also received an outdated message the day of our arrival that said happy thanksgiving????
However we did text once while there and called once about trash during the week and got responses both of those times.
