About this property

Charmante et Spacieuse Maison, Grande Terrasse, vue Magnifique, Jardin, Piscine

Our charming village house, built from the region’s characteristic ochre-yellow natural stone, stands at the very top of the hill in the village of Saint-André-de-Roquepertuis, an authentic village in the Cèze Valley, in northern Gard, 20 minutes south of the Ardèche. The terrace and living room offer a stunning view of the surrounding hills of the Bois des Verdières and the mountains beyond. From the kitchen, you can see the church’s bell tower and the charming village square. Following the renovation and construction of the pool in 2022 and the landscaping of the garden in 2023, we’re ready to rent out our home...

Our family home offers so much space that any family or group of friends can enjoy each other’s company throughout their entire holiday, yet anyone seeking some peace and quiet or needing a moment of privacy can find a quiet spot for themselves at any time.

Let’s take a look together.
You enter via the outdoor staircase from the village square. The entryway opens directly into the spacious dining room, which in turn leads to a large kitchen with a balcony along the front and a spacious living room with sliding windows along the back. This takes you out to the terrace, which stretches across the entire width of the house. From here, the view of the surrounding hills is simply stunning. The covered portion of the terrace provides access to the back kitchen, which is located just behind the main kitchen. And that completes the tour. There is also a door in the entry hall that leads to a bathroom with a toilet and shower.
Two flights of stairs lead to the ground floor. From the staircase in the dining room, you enter a hallway with three bedrooms, one of which has its own sink and shower. This room has two twin beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed. The other two bedrooms each have a double bed. On this side of the house, there is also a separate bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a separate toilet. The second staircase starts from the kitchen and leads to a living room with an adjoining room, furnished with a bunk bed. The two sides of the ground floor are connected by a hallway.
From the covered terrace, a staircase leads to a vaulted cellar that stays pleasantly cool in the summer. From here, you enter the garden, which consists of several levels: a small shaded terrace, a petanque court, and the pool with its surrounding terrace and garden. The vaulted cellar is also accessible from the street via a locked private passageway.
Parking is available in the square in front of the house. Additional parking spaces are available in the surrounding streets, and the large municipal car park is located 100 metres away.
Good to know for the summer: the massive stone walls provide enough thermal inertia to keep the house pleasantly cool all day long in the summer. The large terrace is in the shade all day long—though you can always find a sunny spot—but is bathed in the evening sun as the day draws to a close. Watching the sunset from here is a magnificent sight. The pool is in the sun all day. The trees in the garden provide charming shaded spots at any time of day.

-On Friday evenings, there’s a pizza stand serving delicious Italian pizzas in Saint-André (50 m from the house); you’ll need to make a reservation if you want to eat on time.
