Stay in an 1860s original log cabin, on our 140-year family farmstead. The cabin in rustic, but with full amenities (like electricity, running water, indoor bathroom, microwave, frig). Perfect for 1-2 couples or 5 close friends. Snooze on the queen size or single trundle bed up in the loft, with its private balcony. Enjoy the evening breezes blowing through or use the ceiling fan or air conditioner on those warm nights. The Main floor sitting area has a kitchenette and table, plus a futon. Choose either the morning or evening porch for listening to birds and watching cows while sipping something fun. Find the moon and stars with our telescope (dark skies here!). The bathroom is well stocked with towels and amenities. Even the Amish think it's unique (see the pictures). Our farm offers serenity and an occasional veggie from the garden. Asparagus, raspberries and grapes to savor, cows just over the fence, bonfire pit, charcoal grill. You can ride from the Farm to one of Elroy's 3 bike trails. Catch the Omaha Trail from our country road and make a 10 mile loop, or connect with the others near Elroy (4 easy miles to reach them - 20 minutes or less). Sorry, no pets (they scare the cows). And no internet but smart phones do work. Not fancy, just farm life like your grandparents lived - without all the work.

We had the best time at Mary's! The cabin is very rustic. But if you like peace and quiet, this is a great spot. The bed is comfortable and all of the porches are so welcoming. We'd like to visit again.
The perfect mix between rustic and modern. We loved waking up to the cows right outside our door. Peaceful and private and relaxing. We will most definitely be coming back!
Sisters with daughters get away. Absolutely loved the peaceful serenity of the cabin setting of the gem of a person who rents it. Mary is a welcoming host. We appreciated her flexibility and delightful personality.

Thank you; it was fun seeing your girls in with the cows.
BTW, you left a brush near the downstairs bed. Do you want me to return it? If so I'll need your address
Loved staying at this peaceful, cozy log cabin. Mary was a great host and made us feel very welcomed. She treated us to home baked goods and allowed us to pick raspberries, tomatoes and apples for ourselves. If you want a taste of the life of Laura Ingalls, this is the place! PS there is indoor plumbing:)
We loved our stay at this cute little cabin!! Such a breathtaking property and perfect location. The owner Mary is an excellent host! Totally recommend!!

Gracias for all the interesting conversations. Maybe this could be Tom's annual birthday event ??
This is my favorite kind of airbnb. Off the beaten path but not TOO far, so it makes a great overnight stop on a road trip (where you can escape road noise). Full of character and charm, including the host, who gave a warm welcome but didn’t hover! I’d love to come back and stay a little longer for a personal retreat. The farm is lovely. Thank you for the great stay!
This cabin on the Waarvik Family Farm is just what we wanted--peaceful, quiet, in the spring-green rolling hills of Wisconsin, not slick and commercial, just a place to breathe clean air, listen to the birds, and enjoy a rustic cabin in the countryside. I'd love to stay there again.
We wanted to have a break from the city, enjoy the silence and ourselves. We had a grill and Mary even provided charcoal. Very close to really nice trails like the Elroy-Sparta Trail. Will definitely try to come back.
We had a great time in the cabin. The frontier feel mixed with modern conveniences was a perfect mix. I enjoyed soaking in all the history that you feel when you enter the place. Sitting on the porch in front of a fire playing cribbage and watching the sun go down was a great way to end the day.

Thank you. I'm sorry the weather wasn't cooperative, but I'm not in charge of that
Beautiful relaxing property! Loved it and all the sightseeing info. Just came here to relax on the way to upper Wisconsin but would love to stay longer and do some trails. Amazing stargazing
My sister and I had a great time at this wonderful little cabin. It is quaintly adorned and furnished. We played cards, explored nature, and had a nice visit with Mary’s family. We highly recommend it!
The location is very beautiful - it was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin is well maintained and fun. All the amenities we needed were there. We met Mary and she is a delightful person. We will share this location with our friends.

4th generation on this farm. Good Norskie heritage, no longer milking (thank heavens). I just keep track of the heifers that stay here in the summer.
