My two adult cousins and I booked this very lovely 3 bedroom condo for a quick reunion and a visit to see our grandparents, who live in a retirement community in town. The condo was beautifully presented, extremely clean, and in a prime location in downtown Kelowna, with a partial lake view. The furniture and bedding were top notch, and the rooms were extremely comfortable! We hugely appreciated the nicely appointed kitchen, as well as How to Host's ancillary recommendations for wineries and restaurants in town, and we cooked daily in the unit. The Nespresso machine (and pods), as well as the french press and the drip coffee maker were a huge hit, as each of us preferred one of the three options. In addition, the indoor and off-street parking was wonderfully convenient and easy to use, and is a huge perk, especially in summer!
The only bumps in our experience involved the check-in process (the property manager emailed us the incorrect door code on arrival, and I had to text them to get an updated code), some recently installed water detectors in each bathroom (the one in the hall bath malfunctioned in the setting of high humidity, and turned off the water main to the unit while my cousin was in the shower at 9:30pm on Friday), and the lack of a specific user guide in the unit for some of the unit-specific particulars (i.e. like how to manually turn the water main back on, the fact that the thin plastic key fobs have RFD chips in them and can be used to electronically open the front door to the building, info on the TV setup/controls, and the fact that the gym is actually in the building next door). In addition, the unit's temperature control was set at 75 F (24 C), and the heat would not go below that value, even in the off season, which meant that we had to keep the sliding glass doors open for the duration of our stay. This was not much of an issue in the off-season, but did make for some loud evenings. I suspect it would be more of an issue in the summer, for those who like it cool.
If it weren't for these relatively minor bumps in the road, this would have easily been a 5-star unit to stay in! If the property owners/managers were to rectify the faulty water/humidity sensor issue (or just remove the sensor from that one bathroom), as well as include some unit-specific information, this would have been a universally exceptional experience! All of that said, we will still plan to rent the unit again for our next trip.
