Decorated for Christmas! This 3 bedroom cabin is minutes from downtown Townsend and close to Tuckaleechee Caverns and Cades Cove. You'll never run out of things to do at the cabin. Check out the hot tub, air hockey table, shuffleboard table, fire pit, board games, or arcade games. Cook in one of two kitchens. Grab a drink from the coffee bar or hot cocoa/hot cider bar. Kick back in the recliner and watch a movie on the Smart TV with the fireplace on. Sit on the porch and enjoy mountain views in the rocking chairs, porch swing, or swinging bed.

Welcome to Tuckaleechee Farmhouse by Smoky Retreat TN.

Enjoy the peaceful side of the Smokies with multiple decks and a gorgeous mountain view. This cabin has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two kitchens.

Sip your coffee out on the deck while sitting in a comfy rocking chair. Lay in the porch bed and take an afternoon nap. Hang out in the cabin and play board games or air hockey. Take advantage of the kitchens by making a family favorite recipe. Tip-toe up to the bunk room and find the special play place. Enjoy a campfire in the front yard.

Main level:
Walk into the sunroom and the excitement starts immediately. Put together an air hockey tournament or challenge someone to a game of foosball.

The open kitchen with large farmhouse sink is the perfect place to cook your favorite family meal or bake some warm gooey cookies. The upstairs kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer combo with water, stovetop/oven, dishwasher, Keurig and drip coffee makers, Ninja blender, rice cooker, crock pot, and toaster. The dining area seats eight comfortably.

When you’re ready to relax and give those feet a break, head on into the living room. This a great room to gather with the new couch, loveseat, and rocking recliner. The smart tv with roku can connect to any of your streaming apps including Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, etc. Place a little wager on who can win at shuffleboard or grab a board game out of the closet and learn something new. The living room also has a good amount of floor space if anyone needs to stretch out or even do some yoga. October to April you can start the gas fireplace and cozy up.

There is a bathroom on the main level as well. In there you will find a toilet, a pedestal sink, and a corner shower. Towels and soaps are provided.

When the mountains start calling, head out to the covered deck. Out there you’ll find plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views of Rich Mountain. Lay in the porch bed and read a book or take a nap, sit on the porch swing and let your worries fade away, rock back and forth on the rocking chairs and enjoy a beverage or two. There’s even a fan to create a small breeze. If you’re lucky enough to visit in the fall or after we’ve received snowfall, you’ll be in for an extra special treat.

Upper level:
The upper-level hosts two bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s the perfect place to lay your head and sneak off to dreamland.

If king beds are your thing, you’ll find one here! A new king bed with beautiful blue headboard is awaiting you. You will find nightstands, small lamps, and power blocks for regular plugs and USBs on each side of the bed. The king room also has a ceiling fan, smart tv with roku, and there’s a queen bed in the corner with a twin trundle. Great for a couple’s room and also for a family room.

The bunkroom has a stand-alone full bed as well as queen over queen bunk beds. This room also has a Smart TV with Roku, a retro Nintendo game console, an arcade game, and a secret hideout. Perfect room for the kids to take over!

Relax in the tub or take a shower in the updated full bath. All towels provided.

Lower Level:
You’ll be impressed with this lower level as it’s set up like an apartment! Here you’ll find a second full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and Ninja blender. For added fun this kitchen also has a coffee bar, and a hot cocoa/hot cider bar with some fun mix-ins. There’s room for four at the eat in dining area. A small office space is also set-up in case you need to check in at the office during your stay.

The living room has a couch that pulls out into a bed, a smart tv with roku, a dvd player and assorted dvds. Oh don’t forget about the Ms. Pacman game to bring up some old memories!

A third and final bedroom is located on the lower level as well. It has just been upgraded to a King Suite with new king bed, nightstands with lamps and power stations, ceiling fan, smart tv with roku, and a beautiful dresser. The attached bathroom has a shower.

If you walk out to the covered porch you’ll immediately see the six person hot tub with lights and jets. What a great place to relax after a long day of exploring! The icing on the cake to this lower level is the brand new wood firepit area with an awesome dyed concrete floor and eight comfortable chairs. Firewood is provided.

Beautiful cabin - perfect for families
The cabin is much bigger than it appeared so we were pleasantly surprised. There’s so much space! Everything was well maintained and clean. The large family room was perfect for watching a movie. We loved the air hockey and foosball table. Having 2 kitchens was great since we cooked dinner every night - including a full Thanksgiving dinner. The location is perfect- there’s so much to do Townsend. I only wish we stayed longer so we could have taken advantage of the hot tub and the fire pit.

Perfect for families
Was set up wonderfully for myself and my spouse and two grown children and grandchildren. We all had our own private spaces. The kids had a blast with all the games and the great yard space. Owners were very patient with all my questions.

Fantastic
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. It is a wonderful place for the family. There is plenty of room for all and we were not on top of each other. We especially enjoy the front porch with the bed swing. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen including crockpot, instapot and blender. We have small children so the outdoor space and swing was great plus all the game tables and video games. Highly recommond. Nicole is great and checks to see if everything is in order. Only complaint is the cleaners arrived about 30 minutes prior to check out time and sat in driveway starring at us while we loaded our vechicles.

Family get away
We had a great experience here! I took my family of 8 and had plenty of room to spread out. We were pleasantly surprised by just how well stocked the kitchen was including an instant pot and blender! The yard was perfect for catching fireflies and roasting marshmallows. Great location- easy access to attractions, but still quiet. We can’t wait to come back!

Host profile image
We are the Schroeder family and we have been traveling full-time since September of 2017. We started out traveling exclusively in our rv, but fell in love with short term rentals when we explored Europe in 2019. We have been to all 50 states and over 10 countries as we seek to learn more about the diversity that makes each place unique and special. This cabin is a family passion. We are teaching our children about construction, basic repairs, budgeting, hospitality, compassion, and loving others well. They are involved in this property and we hope that they will grow to love hosting as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We have been all across the country in our travels and found that we kept coming back to the Smoky Mountains because we love the area so much. Staying in a log cabin and sitting out on the deck in the porch swing looking at the mountain side gives us peace. This is where we come to take a rest and reset. The view is one of our favorite features. We love everything about the deck. This is where priceless memories are made and we wanted to offer that to others when we were out exploring.

What makes this property unique

This cabin has two kitchens which is very unique. The deck is also a huge focal point as it has a porch swing, a swinging porch bed, and rocking chairs. The hot tub is on the lower level deck and the fire pit for a cozy wood burning fire isn't far away. The property also has a bit of a yard which you don't always find in the Smokies. No steep mountain roads to climb.
