A mixed bag
My husband and I stayed at this property for seven days over the Labor day weekend. It was a mixed bag for us. The positives: a great, safe neighborhood, proximity to the bay and the University of Rhode Island campuses, some of the furnishings in the house were nice and new, enjoyed having coffee in the back yard, the AC worked well. The negatives: we arrived to a fly-infested house and spent the first three days dealing with it; the (brand new) washer flooded the basement floor because of not being hooked up properly, so we had to mop up the mess; on the first morning after arriving we were woken up by a backhoe at seven a.m. - would have appreciated being told there was construction next door. The main issue was that the house is very cluttered with old stuff that has been added to all the nice new stuff. What you see in the photos is there, but there are also the contents of a whole other, older, house in the form of plastic tubs, old shoes, old pantry and cleaning items, etc. The owner responded to our messages promptly and brought a bag of fly-control stuff. The pool was too cold to swim in despite the hot weather. The back yard area is not very well maintained, but we enjoyed the visiting bunnies, the wild birds, and the cicadas. The main bathroom had towels in a pile, some unwashed, with store tags still on. Downstairs bathroom is pretty unwelcoming, with a concrete floor and a low toilet, but has a new shower stall. Overall, it was a pretty disappointing stay.
