Scenery was amazing, hostoric mining location was interesting, property was beautiful - inside and out. We don't live far away, so it was perfect for one-night stay, child-free night out retreat for my wife and I. Supper at the Marysville House was delicious! Thank you so much, Brian!
Awesome place to stay for a weekend/week getaway trip. Great steak at the Marysville house and a good glassing/ hiking spot at the top of the mountain. Brian was a great host and had great suggestions!
Great Little place. Perfect place for a couples get away. The scenery is incredible. The Cabin was extremely clean and welcoming. The host was very communicative. 100% would recommend.
Private and comfortable, with big skies and quiet roads and fields all around. A nice walk into the almost ghost town of Marysville, where you’ll find a fabulous meal at the Marysville House, Wear your jeans.
We enjoyed the time at this property. Nice small town nearby, and very quiet. Clean, and the property looked brand new!
Very nice place. Thank you for having us!
Our experience was exactly why we use VRBO: responsive owner who provided pristine accommodations and helpful suggestions in a location we likely wouldn't have found otherwise. Brian was a great host, the cabin offers great mountain views and nearby hiking opportunities, and our yellow lab left the cabin relaxed and rejuvenated (along with her owners).
This is the perfect place to get away! No noise, no traffic, just open mountain air. Brian has everything in the cabin you could ever need and was attentive to us. The cabin was extremely clean and cozy, we sat on the deck and enjoyed watching deer and hummingbirds. Marysville House had delicious food and friendly people. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a mountain retreat!
My husband and I spent a relaxing couple of days at the cabin after dropping my bonus daughter at college. We checked out Helena and the Gates of the Mountains (beautiful!), enjoyed hikes and had a delicious steak dinner on the patio at the Marysville House. The view from the cabin is gorgeous, and our favorite evening was topped off with a beer on the deck with 180 degree+ views. Brian was helpful and responsive. We hope to return again next year!
LOVED staying here. We are locals and this was still an incredible getaway. Marysville oozes history and even being an "almost-ghost-mining-town" has a lot of worth, including a fantastic restaurant and fun ski mountain, Great Divide. Brain's cabin is situated in a beautifully secluded spot above Marysville with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and Great Divide. The cabin is really private and sublimely quiet. We stayed New Years weekend and Great Divide did an awesome firework display in tandem with magical torch ski parade. It was COLD, yet lots of brave souls swished their way down the main run with glowing-red torches in hand. It was a magical sight from the cabin.
The cabin does not have a cooking range (which is mentioned in the listing), but had more than expected amenities (including a toaster stove & hot plate). And there were unexpected thoughtful accents, like hot chocolate bombs and wine.
Our only "complaint" (if you could call it that) is that there was too much stuff in the space. We had trouble finding space to set our own belongings, so I would recommend either doing a storage solution or just omitting some of the non-essentials.
The bed was super comfortable and the entire space was inviting. Loved that they allowed dogs - thank you for that, Brian!
And Brian was nothing short of amazing. He was always incredibly fast in his responses and he was genuinely thoughtful and considerate in every aspect. He is one of those hosts that really cares. We will be back, if he'll have us!
Brian’s place in the hill above Marysville is wonderful. If you like solitude, quiet, and beautiful scenery you can’t beat this cozy cabin. Brian and the people we met in Marysville were all so nice and the town was very interesting. I would recommend this place to anyone that would like to get away and enjoy. We both wish we could’ve stayed longer! Lori and Larry Bergum Conover WI
We enjoyed this very quiet peaceful place. A great place to relax, rest, and read. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the local steakhouse, I would highly recommend this place.
We absolutely loved Brian’s cabin and the splendid, quiet location. Everything was lovely. He came to greet us when we weren’t sure about the location.
We would love to visit again.
Beautiful mountainside cabin in an (almost) ghost town
I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Brian, as we were in an out while it was still light outside and didn’t get back until late in the evening after exploring around Helena. But my communications with him through VRBO were excellent and the cabin was even better than described. It’s a beautiful place, super comfortable, and I only wish we had spent more than a single night there. Hopefully will get back up that way one day.
Very clean, easy to get to (follow Directions that take you through Marysville) and awesome deck views! Recommend eating at the local steak house - steaks were surprisingly good.
