About this property

Historic Whistler House

This is a private suite of two rooms and a private bath. As you can see in the photos , it’s on the second floor so it’s not for those with mobility concerns. Also there’s a claw foot tub that’s requires some agility getting into and there is a grab bar to assist.
I’’m located 2 blocks from the County Courthouse and historic town of Mercer.
I’m at 317 North Pitt Street. The house was built circa 1840 in the Greek Revival style. There are trees all around adding to your privacy and we are a within walking distance to town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with high ceilings and many windows to allows the views of the gardens.
The sleeper sofa in the living room sleeps one. There is an additional fee of $20.00 per night per person.

Great Little Place
The apartment was on the third floor of a historic house. If steps are no problem then this place has everything you need! Very clean, comfortable and owner very friendly!

Absolutely Incredible
Pulling up to this beautiful property was breath taking. From the large yard to a small deck to enjoy the view. This place was great for a short relaxing getaway. This rental space was clean with touches of love and care around every corner. Our host Nancy felt more like family. Her kindness and love for her property shined through. I can not wait to go back next year!

Comfortable and welcoming.....
The space was very welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy. Nancy was a wonderful host. She was friendly, informative, but not intrusive. There was more space than the photos portray. We would love to stay there again if the opportunity arises.

About the host

Host profile image
My family and I bought this house when it was in disrepair long before the many home fix it up tv shows were so prevalent. We did most of the renovations including removing wallpaper everywhere, replastering, sanding or replacing floors, upgrading the bathrooms. We’ve also hand scraped the brick which had decades of peeling paint. We also scraped and repainted the pillars two of which are original. It has been a labor and not always of love but it is lovely to live here and appreciate the craftsmanship that allows it to remain.

What makes this property unique

The high ceilings and many windows fill the house on a sunny day with a almost mystical glow.
