Lovely cottage attached to the host's home, with an enormous and beautiful back garden. Very close to the main area of Niagara on the Lake and the Shaw festival.

A cozy, convenient cottage

Alnwick is a small but comfortable cottage with every amenity you can think of. A carport turned into a sun porch gives you more room for dining and relaxing. Guests also have the use of a beautiful back garden. If you are there for the Shaw Festival, it's a 15 - 20 minute walk to the Festival and Royal George Theaters. Pauline is a welcoming hostess, but gives you your privacy. She will also spoil your dogs with homemade treats! We would definitely stay there again.

An Absolutely Perfect Week!!

I would give 6 stars, if I could! Pauline was a terrific hostess and looked after all 3 of us (My dogs, Chloe and Red got home made dog biscuits every day) so well. The garden is just beautiful and I wish I could have spent even more time back there. The cottage was perfect for us and the carport gave the dogs even more room to spread out. We are walkers so walked for miles and miles. Wonderful. An easy walk to the main shopping street. We have already booked our next trip!!

Cottage on King

This was a cozy cottage for our stay in Niagara on the Lake! The cottage was neat and clean and had everything we could need available. It is surrounded by a beautiful and a furnished carport area. If the weather was a little warmer we would have given both a try! Pauline our host, was very accommodating and gave us the full tour of the place and garden before leaving us to our own devices! Definitely a great place to stay!

Alnwick Cottage

We highly recommend this accommodation based on location to the downtown area of Niagara on the Lake, the quietness of the property, cleanliness, layout inside the property, excellent host that greeted us on arrival and the pricing. This well exceeded our expectations. Many thanks.

What a terrific to stay with our dog!!

Pauline greeted us upon arrival and even had a homemade treat for Ernie. She showed us around and had everything ready so that we would be comfortable. We had told her that we ride bikes so she showed us where to put them inside the carport/sunroom. That was also a lovely place to eat breakfast. The ride downtown was only .7 miles on the bike. What a beautiful city!

Excellent location

My partner and I just returned from a 4 night stay at Alnwick Cottage. I’ve stayed at this cottage a few times before and, as usual, it did not disappoint. It is perfectly situated within walking distance to a number of locations, including the old town. It is in a quiet neighborhood. The cottage is clean and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and very peaceful. A great spot to relax and have a drink. The hosts are quick to respond or assist, when needed. Thanks Pauline and Clair!

Nice little getaway

We enjoyed our stay. We enjoy that there is a large sunroom to gather in if the weather is not ideal. With a table and chairs in sunroom it allowed us to enjoy our meals there as well. Also a beautiful backyard to enjoy. We rented bikes and it was just a short bike ride to Queen street. Maybe a 10 minute bike ride. Great area for touring around! And Pauline is a fabulous host! We look forward to our next visit!

An Amazing Stay!

Pauline was a super host. She was so accommodating to us and our two pups to the point of welcoming them with homemade dog biscuits and having some for the every day! Decor is beautiful antique furnishings and nothing was left out for our convenience. The backyard is a large garden area of shrubs and paths with many chairs all around for seating. The location is a short walk to the main part of the town. We will definitely be back again.

Very Comfortable Stay

Pauline was a great host. She met us upon our arrival - which was late in the day - to personally show us around the cottage. The rooms are small but comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is close to town - about a 15 minute walk. We played golf twice - once at the Niagara on the Lake Golf Club and once at a course near Niagara Falls, then spent the afternoon in Niagara. We also went to the Butterfly Conservatory and took in two plays at the Shaw Festival. Lots of wonderful places to eat! A busy four days and a comfortable cottage to come "home" to.

Niagara Falls

We stayed here to see Niagara Falls. The house in Niagara on the lake is in a great location with a beautiful 20 minute drive to see the falls. It was nice to stay in a peaceful little town, and away from all the tourist attractions of the Niagara Falls area. The house was very clean. It is a great location and that it is close to restaurants and the down town area. The little town of Niagara on the lake is beautiful and the food in the area is excellent . Was nice that she had coffee available. we did very little cooking but everything you need. Is there if you want. The beds were a bit too firm for us. Pauline was very friendly and we had good communication with her.

Comfortable and welcoming

Pauline greeted us as soon as we arrived. She was friendly and very welcoming - especially to my westiepoo Toby. She immediately brought us to a stunning back yard garden for Toby to play in after a long drive. Actually stunning doesn’t begin to describe. The amount of work she has put into it is astonishing. We then went inside. The converted car port-now-sun room was beautiful. I could spend a summer in that room. She gave Toby some dog biscuits she made herself and then showed my mom and me to through the house addition where we stayed. It’s got all the amenities of home and was very comfortable. My mom and I enjoyed ourselves very much and had a great stay. Pauline gave us tips for things to do each day (and gave Toby more homemade dog biscuits too!) I would absolutely come back to stay again!

Picture Perfect Cottage

My sister and I spent two wonderful days together in Niagara on the Lake at Pauline's cottage. We followed the GPS directions and easily found her home. The suite is attached to her place with a lovely large vestibule greeting us as we entered. Very open and airy, with lots of seating and a perfect place for morning coffee. Pauline greeted us when we arrived, showed us the suite which wasbetter than we could imagine. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a livingroom, a fully supplied kitchen, and bathroom with towels galore. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and place to unpack and store our clothes. Pauline decorated the suite very tastefully with pictures, trinkets, and items from around the world. Wifi worked well in the livingroom. She had books and maps available about NOTL and its surroundings. But the absolute best feature were her gardens. I have never seen such a beautiful, well kept, interesting backyard. There were walking paths, benches, trinkets and lushes plants wherever you looked. Alas, it had rained heavily prior to our arrival, so we could not sit out in the garden, but we were amazed at its beauty. Pauline is a superb host and if ever we are in the area, we definitely know where to stay.

We are the Sullivans, Pauline and Clair. We live on the property, which we find very convenient, problems, help with restaurant recommendations, even pet sitting have all been our pleasure to perform.

Why they chose this property

We originally purchased 659 King Street, for its close proximity to Live theatre and a wonderful golf course. It was originally used by the family as 2 cottages, 1 for guests. After retiring we decided to live in the front cottage and rent the rear cottage as a vacation spot.
