Perfect lakeside getaway!
We were looking for a place to just relax for a few days and checkout nearby attractions like Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, along with a friend's family. We liked the pictures in the listing, but this house was even better in person! Whoever designed and decorated the place really did a great job, and the host has put in a lot of though with all the furnishings and making sure that guests have a comfortable stay here. It's a really good size house and perfect location on a lake to just hangout and go boating / kayaking, or grill on the deck and spend time with family and friends. The host was super responsive with all the questions I had prior to the trip and even during. Our kids really liked our stay there and are already asking to return there next year - so we hope to do a repeat in the future! I highly recommend this.

Gorgeous Property!
This is an excellent property to stay with your family or friends. The views of the lake are amazing. We were able to see the beginning of the changes of the leaves. It was breath taking! Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The owners did an outstanding job with the decorations. Extremely well kept and welcoming home!

This rental has pros and cons. The house is architecturally interesting and the lakeside location with the dock is nice. Unfortunately, there is an issue with the next door neighbor. It appears that the owner is doing an addition/renovation on his home and at times it can be quite noisy with sawing and machines running (floor sanding maybe inside). Also there is a very bright spotlight aimed directly at the side of the rental house that will go on and off for several minute intervals at night so sleeping in the main level bedroom can be less than restful. The next door neighbor's shed, large RV which family members live in, his trucks are parked directly behind the rental house and the parking for the rental house is behind the neighbor's house. Therefore early in the morning the downstairs bedroom gets the building material sounds and sawing from the neighbor working directly behind the bedroom windows. The question is why don't they use the areas directly behind each house as originally plotted? That way the neighbor could have his shed, big RV and construction materials behind his own house. In speaking with the builder/owner, the house was sold because the owner was fed up with the neighbor's behavior - such as refusing to switch the parking areas when they switched ownership of the house lots. The other issue is air-conditioning. The upstairs air conditioner is actually in the loft bedroom. It is not meant to cool the whole house. The bedrooms on the bottom level of the house have only a sliding door for ventilation. Several nights were quite warm and the downstairs had no air circulation. The air conditioner did not cool the lower level - wasn't meant to - and the few windows on the ground floor that could be opened had no screens. Being able to open the windows would have been great. We did really enjoy the screened porch especially in the evenings to hear the loons, watch the sun go down, enjoy the lake. The outside dining table was wonderful too. Kayaking on the lake was fun and interesting. Out grandkids had a good time swimming and catching frogs and releasing them and fishing. The house is near some great hiking and the lobster boat tours are highly recommended. We did enjoy exploring the area and the friendliness of the locals.

This is the perfect house and lake for a family vacation!
This house was perfect for our family vacation. I am very particular about cleanliness and this house met all my expectations as well as being decorated beautifully. We all enjoyed the lake as we brought up our fishing boat and the house had 2 kayaks there for us to use. The screened in porch was one of my favorite places to just relax and look at the lake. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of room for all of us. I would definitely come back to this beautiful house.
