Come enjoy all that Montana has to offer. Amazing views, beautiful wildlife and a tranquil setting. Our barn offers a unique experience with lots of space to relax and majestic views. We are on 11 acres and you have nearby hiking trails & lakes within minutes. If you love the snow, we are nestled in the foothills of the Jewel Basin and near two mountain ranges for snowboarding or skiing, and also near cross country skiing trails. For once in a lifetime experience Glacier Park is only 30 minutes away.
***Please note that this is a working barn. I've just recently added an electric fireplace, but it can still be drafty and is in no way like staying in a hotel room or cabin. That being said it's a very unique experience that's so much fun!

Very fun and rustic stay in the mountains! It really was the perfect Montana experience. Maggie and Ben also did a fantastic job with the welcoming touches!! Absolutely stay here, for the price it’s a steal 3
We had a great stay in this quaint barn set in the perfect location to explore Flathead and Glacier attractions. Rustic and efficient, loved the concept.
Overall expierence here was amazing! Everything was even better than what was listed… you get to stay with 2 horses which was a pleasant surprise! The rental had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Thank you Maggie!
We stayed 5 nights at Maggie's and had a wonderful time in MT. The scenery is spectacular, the weather was amazing, the deer on our back porch every evening with the occasional visit from the neighbor's turkeys was totally our family's style. Yes, it is a barn and the accommodations are basic but we slept well, were comfortable, and it was all around a perfect home base for our trip. Thanks Maggie!

Camping with a roof in a barn
It is not quite what was depicted. The roof leaked over the bed (by the cowhide). The shower should be noted. If you want a slight step up from camping, then it will fit your needs.

What a perfect place to stay and amazing hosts that are so welcoming and kind! Thank you!
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at the barn. Very nice set up and loved the decor. Very peaceful. I slept very well the nights I stayed. The horse on-site was so beautiful and friendly. Great stay and would recommend!
First time to sleep in a barn. First time to see Glacier National Park. First time to shower outside. Maggie is a great host and just 40 minutes from west entrance to Glacier.
Maggie was excellent with her communication to us coming, our questions we had. Her barn/bunkhouse was amazing with all her creative touches! It was our anniversary....she left us wine, roses, candles lit and a sweet card! Very memorable for us....she did such a great job with her warm welcome! Nice area she and her family live in! Close to Bigfork....beautiful drives! Thank you! --Mary & Kerry
Unique and rustic experience, A change from the ordinary!
A nice little barn that has been converted in a nice little bunk house. Not for the uptight city person but we had a great little stay. If your looking for a completely different experience this cozy little bunk house is for you. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was a country experience, that everyone that is a little adventurous should try.
Friendly horses downstairs. Clean and comfy beds upstairs. This was a great location for exploring the Jewel Basin. Super pet friendly (with only a very small pet surcharge) and lots of trails to explore with our dogs right on the grounds. Muffins in the morning to start the day. Thanks Maggie and Mike for your warm hospitality.

Not for us
The property was cute, beds were comfortable and clean. We booked for 3 nights but left after 2. The horse barn smell and flies were just too much. I expected to be staying in a bunkhouse not an actual horse barn.
Magic has many different forms.
Some hear the word "magic" and think of unicorns or stardust. We hear the word and think of a kind family, a beautiful barn, a horse, and a donkey named Gumdrop.
It's a place that will keep you dreaming, we couldn't be more grateful!
Not a Hotel room exactly as described a Bunkhouse with all that is needed!
We enjoyed the Bunkhouse atmosphere along with the Horse and Donkey ! Kids loved it as we did! Area attractions were within short distance less the 50 miles!
Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, Big Fork MT ! Need more fans in Bunkhouse if Hotter then normal temps! All in all a good time had by all! Ages 74 Male ,37Male the rest Females,34,15, and 12!
A little more rustic than I imagined... But very well set up. Due to heat wave air conditioner could not keep the place cool during the day. Maggie was very accommodating to our needs. Slight electric problem too, causing breaker to flip.thsnk you for letting us use your home.
This place is pretty cool, my cousins and I were on a road trip through Montana and the barn made an awesome place to stay! Maggie has beautiful taste and the barn is totally picturesque. Beds were comfy and clean, I am actually in awe of how much work it must have taken to make a working barn so clean. Well done! Maggie was a wonderful host! It is SPACIOUS, don't be deterred by the outdoor shower its truly no big deal, more like an open air stall as opposed to being "exposed". I found it quite refreshing!! Horse and donkey friends are nearby in the same fenced area, totally agreeable friendly creatures!! 10/10 recommend!
This is exactly as it was advertised, a real working barn that you sleep in! It was a cozy place, complete with all the things that make it feel like a place away from home.
*My only suggestion is that you bring an extension cord and power strip as there isnt much power in the barn for charging your electronics.
*Also, there is no TV in the barn which is great! My kids have been TV free for 8 days now and its amazing!
Overall, this is a great place to be! Waking up to the beautiful mountains, horses, wide open spaces etc., was perfect! Maggie's barn and Bunkhouse was a perfect way to start our trip to MT.
If you want a really unique experience in a beautiful part of Montana, then Maggie's is your place. The horse and burro were incredibly calm and friendly and especially fond of the apples Maggie provided for us to feed them. There were five of us--all adults--and the sleeping arrangements allowed for just the right number of beds. The weather was perfect! For those who don't want the smell of hay or horses, this wouldn't be a good choice. But for those who would like a bunkhouse experience, Maggie's is ideal. For our daughter and her two adult children, this was a once-in-a-lifetime treat as they live in urban Australia. Thanks, Maggie, for creating this rare place for us to laugh, talk, and enjoy each other.
Accurate description.
Staying in a barn. Slight odor, but not noticable after a while. Outdoor shower, covered by barn lean-to. Water heater is small and had limited hot water capacity. No lock on door, no blinds on windows, but always felt safe. Portable AC unit on main level, and fan upstairs would struggle to keep temapture comfortable in the day, luckily we were mainly there only at night. Mattresses, pillows and bedding not of highest quality, but great for a barn. Wifi did not work most of the time.
Overall enjoyed location, setting and atmosphere. Teenagers will remember this stay rather than another generic hotel room. Would gladly stay again in the future. Reasonable cost. Was able to sleep in beds rather than in tents at the family reunion.
Good communication by hosts.

In need of some cleaning
I feel bad leaving a negative review because I can see the "vision" that they were going for but the accommodations/barn was so filthy that it made the stay very uncomfortable. Simply putting the horse outside and buying a few items from Hobby Lobby does not turn a space into a vacation rental.
The A/C unit is way too small to accommodate the space so it was stifling hot. We couldn't open windows because there were no screens and bugs swarmed in.
I understand that it is a "working barn" but a little vacuuming and clorox would go a long way. The smell of dust, horses, and manure was overpowering. There were mouse droppings, cobwebs, hay, dust, and dead flies everywhere. If you dropped something on the floor, it was filthy dirty when you picked it up.
There was not enough hot water for someone to rinse off. There were frogs, manure, and hay in the shower.
We woke each day to find various new animal droppings that I assume were from frogs (?) and mice. We had to remove one frog from the main living area.
The host left muffins which was very kind. It was also very accommodating to our dogs which made it easy for us to bring them. Maggie was very responsive and easy to work with. She answered our questions quickly and was super kind. The horse and donkey around the barn were so sweet and a joy to see.
All in all, I get the vision of creating a vacation rental from a barn... but you have to clean it up before you open it to guests.
