About this property

Luxury cabin in the woods

This 1800 square foot log cabin on an 250 acre ranch is in Hoback Canyon, a 30-minute drive south of Jackson, Wyoming. This cabin offers a luxury retreat from the busyness of Jackson Hole. The cabin design showcases gorgeous workmanship and is warmed with radiant, in-floor heat. A high-end kitchen has everything you need to feel right at home. The stylish living room is comfortable and offers extensive views of Beaver Mountain. The bathroom features an tile shower. Upstairs, there is a large loft bedroom. The porch/deck is set up for relaxing, socializing and dining, all while taking in amazing Wyoming views.

The cabin is located at the end of a 2 mile dirt road. The last half mile of road is on private property. You do not have to see another person during your stay, if you choose! You can hop on a trail system that starts out the back door to mountain bike, hike, horseback ride, ski or fish.

*** While there is WiFi at the cabin, it is slow. You will be able to email, do internet searches and use WiFi to iMessage, but streaming and video conferencing may be limited.

Wonderful!

The location is tremendous! Only neighbors are the deer and the moose as well as the horse family down the road. Excellent craftsmanship of the house. Good appliances . Very relaxing.

Breath taking....

This was the most beautiful location to stay. The fall colors , beautiful log cabin home tucked back into the national forest. I would say this was one of our top 3 vacations. The location was perfect... far enough away from the town to feel remote but close enough the many fun activities: horse back riding, hot springs, golf, hiking in the Tetons and in the forest behind this beautiful home. The pictures do not do it justice.... seemed alot bigger than what we expected, loved the porch and the view. It also had to be the warmest home we have stayed in.... radiant heated floors. I could go on...

Unbelievably stunning!

BEYOND STUNNING!!!! The photos do not do it justice. Completely snuggled into a far corner, surrounded by National park, aspens, and nature. Not a rooftop or person in sight!!!! Horseback riding outfitter on the drive into the property and goat yoga nearby. This is the first vacation that we’ve returned from feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and completely content.

Beautiful site, great cabin

We had a nice weekend at this cabin. Clean and nicely sized. Beautiful location fairly close to Jackson, but feels like you’re out in the boondocks.

About the host

I purchased this ranch in 2000. First, we built this log cabin and resided in it while the main house (a quarter mile away from the log cabin) was built. To tell the truth, I may love the cabin even more than the main house, as I assisted with the building of the house and so many memories of my children's earliest years are based there. I now live in Jackson, Wyoming full-time. My children are now 20 and 23 years old. I founded City Kids Wilderness Project, a non-profit that offers leadership and outdoor education for low-income DC youth, 25 years ago. The City Kids Wilderness Project's summer program resides at Broken Arrow, a nearby ranch. I love to fish, ski and sail.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property after purchasing Broken Arrow Ranch, so that my family could enjoy summers near City Kids Wilderness Project and Jackson Hole. The property is protected by a conservation easement so it cannot be further developed.

What makes this property unique

This property boasts spectacular views and ultimate privacy. You will see elk, deer, moose, coyotes and raptors wandering the property. The access to outdoor recreation is unparalleled. You will feel like you're in your very own nature reserve. You will look forward to returning to the comfort of the cabin after a day in Grand Teton National Park or on the Snake River. Or you may just want to "stay home" and relax.
