Visit a piece of history in Old Borego Springs! Yes, that's Borego with one "R" which is how Borrego Springs was founded as a homestead community around 1910. Our cabin is an original 1928 Homestead with all the rustic charm, but completely rebuilt and remodeled with all the modern amenities of 2021.
This one bedroom cabin with a loft sleeps up to 6, has a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and cookware. The bathroom is remodeled with a large shower.
The cabin is located a few miles away from town, on a one acre parcel surrounded by a 13 acre ranch. This is a perfect location for star gazing and on a usually clear night, the Milky Way is visible! RV parking is available with electric and water hook-ups.

We have enjoyed visiting Anza Borrego for years and are particularly delighted when we have a chance to stay at this rental. Dark skies, comfort, seclusion, great views--it has them all. Neil is always a pleasure to deal with as well. Our adult son and his friend preceded us and stayed here a few days as well this time; they were mesmerized by the dark skies. It was great!
My husband and I, along with our pug enjoyed a comfortable, quiet few days at this perfectly located historic homestead. So well-equipped and lovingly cared for, we will definitely be back--in warmer evening weather with our telescope!
Our family enjoyed this little-cozy-charming place very much. It was nicely renovated while retaining its old charms. It was well stocked with provisions that we didn't expected. It was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for stargazing and close to town.
location is perfect for llocation
The spot is incredible. The space is so cozy and inviting and the management team is incredibly responsive and welcoming. Enjoyed the open pantry too. So many beautiful night skies and sunrises. Best stay in Borrego ever!
This is a wonderful spot. The night skies are incredible, the sunrises and sunsets too. Our party enjoys the afternoons on the porch and staring into the distance at the mountain ranges. The cabin is delightfully comfortable, very smart set up.
The cabin was a perfect fit for a desert getaway. Very well stocked and and decorated with a rustic, but cozy vibe. Excellent view from the front porch. Easy to access Anza-Borrego State Park which had many amazing hikes. Host responded quickly to any questions.
Great experience. The night sky was beautiful and the location. Cabin clean and well stocked with lots of extras. Very cute and comfortable.
Our dogs had a fabulous time exploring the desert.
Our stay at this desert cabin was amazing. The space was tidy, comfortable, and had all the things we needed... plus more! The location was great for a quiet getaway and the sunrise views and stargazing were stunning. The host was helpful and quick with communication. The AC worked great, the laundry on-site was great, and the internet was fast. We'd love to come back!
Very nice refurbished property is out of the way amid remnants of once-upon-a-time residents of Borrego Valley. Off the beaten track.Rabbits, roadrunners, lizards.
Property management very supportive.
If you are not comfortable driving a short distance on bumpy dirt roads, this is not for you.
Absolutely loved our stay and hopefully will make a return visit.
Fun location in the old desert town of Borrego. Only a few small old houses lefr on a dirt street. Quiet. No traffic. Coyotes and burros heard at night.inside is up to date. Excellent shower. Good heating system. Kitchen small but well equipped.
My family spent almost 10 days at this property during Christmas. It was a great time and such an amazing place. Everything you could need was provided and then some! Host was very quick to respond to any questions and cabin was nicely prepared for us and super clean! Shower is awesome! Loft sleeping was great for kids and heating worked incredibly well. The area is super interesting to explore around, and great for evening walks with the pooch! Also huge plus is that it is a close location to many things to do, if you are into hiking, star gazing, riding motorcycles or going off road, so much to do and also have tranquility at night! Will definitely visit again, thanks so much for great experience!
We are frequent visitors to the area, have camped and stayed in numerous rentals. Neil's place is is cozy, rustic and charming! Pictures are accurate, neighborhood quiet. during our weekend stay there was virtually no traffic, barely heard neighbors doing some outdoor work one afternoon, felt very private. front porch and back patio offer additional options for relaxing, enjoying meals, watching bunnies and birds scurrying around. Convenient location for area trails, parks and activities. We didn't use the loft, but would caution that it's not for young children, that's not a negative mark, just a point for families with small children to consider. Loft access will require kids that can navigate a ladder and loft with a very low rail. We also enjoyed the books on local history: give yourself some downtime while you are there, you will notice little extras that add to the charm. We'll be back ~
Probably the best VRBO/AirB&B I have ever stayed in! The property is in an interesting, historic location. The house is very comfortable and super, well equipped with a very workable kitchen and a super-good outdoor grill. The interior is very nicely done and comfortable. There are decks on the back and front of the house, allowing us to hang out and enjoy different perspectives. The property is not close to others, so there is plenty of privacy. When I contacted the owner with a question, he called back in about 5 minutes. All was good!
We loved our stay. Very clean and cozy. But the location is great. Close to town but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Perfect cabin in a perfect location.
This house is one-of-a-kind gem in Borrego Springs! great location, a lot of character and I love that it was a historical homestead, and that it is surrounded by nature. The host was helpful and very kind. We had a great time exploring the park using this as our home base. Also star gazing right out side of the house was amazing! Thank you Neil!
New feeling - very clean, easy communication, easy check in and check out, quiet, off the beaten path, and great spot from which to enjoy Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Kids loved loft sleeping. Kitchen was well equipped. Loved it!
The renovated cabin located within the site of the original settlement of Borego offers a unique blend of old & new, funky & stylish, exclusivity & authenticity. We liked it so much we already booked to return in 2023.
