About this property

The dollar house

This is a fully renovated single family home which is setup for you to have a very nice place to stay while in the area. The dollar house was a tired little place that hadn’t been lived in for over a decade! It’s fully renovated into something sort of special if you ask me. A great place to stay and really well equipped. It's private, on a safe street, close to parks and both lakes. If Albert Lea has nicer short term accommodations, we need to see it to believe it (Unless it's my two bedroom down the street, "Albert Lea revival". This unit is an exceptional value!

If your car runs on coal, there's an EV charger in the driveway! Or plug in your RV/ camper, etc.

The hosts were welcoming, and the house was in really good shape.Despite the generally cold weather, we stayed warm and cozy in this stylistic modern/ranch setting.The bed slept warm which was perfect for the time we were there.This place is only like 2 minutes from a nice little pub/restaurant, and there’s a Hardee’s near by, so while we were packing up we were able to quickly pop over and grab some gravy biscuits.It was too cold in the moment, but next time we stay, we’ll make sure to visit the Buddy Holly crash site (30 minutes south).

Why they chose this property

What's pretty great about this older neighborhood is that it's walkable. There's a coffee shop, fast food joint (Hardee's), greasy spoon diner, bars and restaurants, parks, swimming pool, lakes, blazing star trail, all within walking distance!

What makes this property unique

What sets this property apart or makes it unique is this house has all new mechanicals (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), it's fully renovated and very well equipped. I see other units in town are not as well equipped and look like lipstick on a hog (except for my two bedroom place down the street titled "Albert Lea revival".
