The property was perfect for our stay of 3. Excellent location and the outdoor shower was a bonus. Would highly recommend. Communication with the property owners was extremely punctual.
The cottage is accurately described and photographed in the listing. Super clean and private feel despite being on a busier street. We didn’t realize that Cap Cod / Orleans isn’t really bikable so you wouldn’t be able to bike from the cottage to shops etc. The largest bed- Queen- is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs- that may be a consideration depending on age/ ability etc. we were very happy with our stay and the host was very prompt with communication. Check Plus!
This was such a wonderful experience for my family visiting Cape Cod for the first time! My 5 year old was so comfortable and at home here that she didn't want to leave and try to convince us to move in! though the space isn't technically child proofed and the stairs are quite steep, it felt safe and comfortable for all of us including our 1 year old, and I would assure any family considering staying here that this home is a great place to spend your vacation. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, so we were able to cut costs on going out for all meals, and the yard felt like a little fairy garden - much to my 5 year old's delight. It was a perfect location for us to have access to everything we needed/wanted out of this trip. The host was timely and accommodating, and everything was so well prepped for us that we didn't need to contact them once during our 5 days - it was all laid out and easily understood from the jump! We are so grateful for our cozy stay on the Cape and we'll definitely be back!
Overall it was a great place! The property managers were very helpful. We accidentally blew a fuse and they were able to help out in a timely manner. It had everything we needed and was in a convenient location!
A couple insights:
-It is on a busy road so getting in and out is a little tricky
-The stairs are very narrow and tall, so just a warning for kids or older folks
-AC works great however this not one in the small twin room upstairs
We had a great stay!
We enjoyed our stay in this charming historic feeling home. Everything was very clean, there were adequate kitchen supplies, the owner was v responsive, and the location was super convenient to exploring north of Orleans and the Outer Cape and Chatham and the mid Cape. The dining room has a painted floor that is just marvelous!
Owners provided towels and nice linens (we loved the pretty quilts!) which is really helpful when you are a family group. NB there is no laundry on site so if you cycle through beach towels you should bring some extra!
Owners also provide beach chairs and an umbrella—which was great!
It’s right on the road so there is some occasional noise but we barely noticed it.
One thing to note is that the master bedroom is upstairs and the one bathroom on the main floor. If you have anyone elderly in your group or who might need the bathroom at night you should make sure they will be comfortable in the double room on the main floor. The stairs are steep and can be hard to navigate at night.
Thanks again for a lovely stay!
We were in town for a weekend wedding and needed a home base - and this place was a perfect fit. Beautifully landscaped with a really nice outdoor shower to boot! The house itself was A+ clean, had plenty fine beds+kitchen+bathroom, wifi worked well too. Near enough to everything but not too busy of a road either. 5/5 would recommend
Close Enough to Major Cape Attractions without the Hassle!
This property in S Orleans is perfect if you prefer not to be in the middle of the often hectic activity of the Cape.
With the exception of a slight hiccup at check-in (which was quickly remedied), this cottage/house was lovely. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy relaxing or BBQ. Indoors there is a full kitchen, separate dining area (which is nice) and a medium-ish living room. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bedroom on the 1st level had a very comfortable bed (not always the case in rentals)!
I would not hesitate suggesting this rental to my friends and look forward to hopefully returning next summer!
The size of the house was perfect for the 3 of us that stayed. After the 3 nights we stayed we realized that the location was very convenient in relation to other towns we’ve stayed. Harwich, Chatham, Dennis Port all a short drive.
We frequent the Cape about twice a year and this was the first small house we decided to rent. It served its purpose well. I quickly learned it’s easier to back into the driveway though. Much easier to get out onto S. Orleans. That road can be busy at times. 10/10 would rent again.
So grateful I found this property to celebrate my birthday and spend the beginning of my new year.
The home is tucked behind a tall fence and surrounded by trees and beautiful hydrangea bushes. Very private, quiet, and peaceful. It has everything you’d need for a trip with friends and family! I packed my own kitchen supplies (pans/glasses/utensils) but the home already has plenty of its own if you didn’t want to. There were sheets on the beds but I’d suggest packing a fitted sheet and bringing your own blankets and pillows. Because of the location and age of the home, bugs do get in and we saw a few small spiders in different places, but nothing harmful or to be concerned about. There are beaches and shops within 10 minutes and my friends and I enjoyed visiting Nauset Beach, Hot Chocolate Sparrow, Land Ho!, and Earth House.
This home truly is so dreamy and I hope to come back many more times!
