About this property

1 Block to USNA at beautifully renovated Historic Chapel Views with back patio and off-site parking

When the owners decided to find their Annapolis home base, they knew they had to be within walking distance to the one’s USNA alma mater. What they found with this special home is so much more! This historic home's family room off the kitchen has the most stunning decorative fireplace dating back to 1730. It was the meeting place of the 18th century social "Tuesday Club" that is rumored to have hosted Benjamin Franklin. This centrally-located home is three blocks to City Dock, a block from Gates 1 and 3, and a block from charming Maryland Avenue's shops and restaurants.

**Parking is not on premises!! A dedicated parking spot at nearby garage (10/15-walk from the house) is provided. Please contact us for details.

The main floor is welcoming and spacious while all newly-decorated to host your family gathering. Walk through the bright entry hallway or formal living room with ample seating to the dining room, with decorative fireplace and seating for 8. The light and airy kitchen with custom tile has a Viking stove, stainless side-by-side refrigerator with water dispenser, dishwasher, breakfast table for 2 and large pantry. Adjacent to the kitchen is a laundry room with half bathroom and cozy family room. The brick family room features comfortable seating, another decorative fireplace, and a 65” flat screen smart TV to enjoy football games.

Head out the back door to the beautiful brick patio with an outdoor dining table for 6. The back patio also includes a gas BBQ, fire pit, Adirondack chairs for 4, and plenty of room to grill, relax and enjoy breathtaking views of the newly-renovated Naval Academy Chapel dome. From the bottom level, head upstairs along the hand carved mahogany banister to the 2nd floor with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths (shower tub combination and shower stall). Master bedroom has a King bed and 55” flat screen smart TV with en-suite office. Guest bedroom has a Queen bed. Both rooms share a large walk-through closet. Upstairs from these 2 bedrooms, on the 3rd floor, is the carpeted attic bedroom with 2 Full and Twin beds (sleeping 3 upstairs), bench window seating, and skylights with views of the Chapel dome.

Stayed at chapel vista for our visit to usna. The property is just like the pictures. The hosts are very easy to work with and communication was easy. They even had a spot in a nearby garage, so nice! Would love to stay again in the future.

Just perfect

We were in town with some friends for a long weekend. This worked perfectly for us once we parked the car in the dedicated garage space up the street The Naval Academy entrance is close and we could easily walk to the shops and restaurants along the water and up the hill along Main St and West St and nearby Maryland Ave.

Great House with view of USNA Chapel

Great newly renovated house very close proximity to downtown and USNA. Quaint backyard for having a glass of wine. My only comment is that since it is an older house, the rooms do not have their own bathrooms. Other than that, 5 stars.

The best 4th of July vacation

A house with a lovely combination of history and modernity in an amazing location! We balanced hitting many of the historic DC spots with the quaint, easy-going environment of "home" in Annapolis. DC is an easy 30-50 minutes, depending on time and traffic pattern. After driving to and from DC, it was a treat to easily walk to dinner, drinks, shopping, and ice-cream. The parking garage was an easy walk and there were even scooters for rent near by for us to ride back to the house one evening! The house was clean, cool and comfy. Loved the recliners in the front window....like sitting on a porch but without the heat and humidity. Was grateful for the powerful AC and extra fans as the days got progressively hotter during our stay. Everything was just amazing!

Annapolis

We loved the house and the location, could not have been better for what we planned to do. Very comfortable beds and two great living areas to watch TV or just visit. There is no parking on the street for tourists so we parked our car in the parking garage close by and didn’t pick it up till we left. We used Uber, but was able to walk almost everywhere. The kitchen had everything we needed for the few times we cooked. My only complaint would be that it took almost 24 hours for the house to cool down. After that the AC units along with the fans worked really well.

Amazing location in beautiful Annapolis

This home has been lovingly restored with very nice touches throughout all the rooms, including granite counters, new paint, nice living room furniture and accessories. The little touches that are found in the living spaces are very fitting a naval town and we really enjoyed discovering all this home held in each room. It was well-stocked for early days with enough to get started with dish washing and laundry, TP and paper towels. Very clean! Parking, as noted in the listing, was off-site. The location was just perfect—the US Naval Academy was steps away, and a couple minutes’ walk from downtown Annapolis (a very walkable town itself). The historic nature of the home meant that, while there was AC, it is room units in the windows. The bathrooms were very hot without ventilation. As well, there was a dehumidifier downstairs which needed to be emptied multiple times a day or the entire first floor would be stagnant and moist. We didn’t know about this. I ended up having to learn also about how to clean the dehumidifier filter on YouTube because it shut down a couple days into our stay. After my tutorial and cleaning the filter, all good and back to emptying the bucket several times a day (more during rainy days!) There was also an issue with the included parking pass when we arrived. This took multiple days to resolve, but did get sorted by the time we got home finally. Overall, we would recommend this house and enjoyed our stay.

Loved Chapel Vista!

Chapel Vista is fantastic! The location is perfect for accessing the USNA yard and downtown restaurants. The beds are very comfortable and my history buff husband loved the house history. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and relaxing in the backyard. I would definitely stay here again!

Great stay at Chapel Vista

House was great, incredibly clean and well maintained. It’s right down the block from USNA gate 1 and easy walk into town. Highly recommend to anyone looking at houses in town/near the academy. We will definitely rent again if it’s ever available!

Beautiful property. Exactly as advertised. GREAT back yard with table, grill, & Fire pit. Plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked and big. Loved the 1700s TV room in the back. Important note - the property description was VERY clear about parking. Make sure you read this. It wasn’t a huge issue for us as we walked a lot, but realize the garage is about 15 min from the property. It’s Annapolis and parking is a challenge everywhere! We loved this place and would definitely rent it again.

The Best

Highly recommend for any USNA, St. John’s or Annapolis visit. Stayed for 2025 Commissioning week and we could not believe how convenient it was for all Of the events on the yard. Also walked to and from graduation, avoiding traffic, saving time better spent celebrating. Walked to dinner, shopping, and bars and did not use car except to grocery shop. Incredibly well-stocked and commodious kitchen for cooking. Bedrooms and baths were spacious and comfortable. Front window and chairs are perfect for people watching if time permits. Back yard was peaceful l, great for relaxing with a fire. We had 7 people and all were comfortable and enjoyed the house and its convenient walk-to -everything location. It was the best place we have stayed during our visits to USNA!

Exceptional stay with attention to detail

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful house. I almost never leave reviews, but it was perfect in every way. The location couldn’t be better, and the house was both extremely comfortable and also very well stocked. The attention to detail was appreciated. We look forward to staying here again when we are in Maryland visiting family.

Perfect place for our chill family trip

This is our second time staying here and it was just as nice as the first time. Travelling with grandparent and 3 older kids (12-18), this lovely residence gives everyone enough space. You do have to situate parking (read the garage directions carefully) but when you do you can walk everywhere. We walked to the crepe shop nearly everyday. The bedrooms are all upstairs but the beds are comfortable and the water pressure is excellent for showers. Excellent! canwaleverywhere.

Beautiful home and perfect location to walk to everything in the historic district of Annapolis. The house is meticulously maintained, which we greatly appreciated - very clean, well stocked, nicely and comfortably furnished. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out.
