A Great House to come Home to

House, 2 Bedrooms + pull out, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-6)

Ocala is a nature lover’s paradise! Get to know the “Old Florida" like a local. You'll find plenty to do in our neck of the woods: biking, hiking, sailing, canoe/kayaking, and don’t forget horseback riding. It is only about 1.5 hours from Disney World, Sea World and Daytona Beach.

The Ocala House offers free use of the (non-tipping) canoe and kayak. The remodeled house is a sweet and comfortable home. It is just a few minutes from the Silver River State Park, and on the edge of Ocala National Forest. The house is close to, shopping, good restaurants and entertainment of all kinds. The home is completely remodeled with the latest amenities. Recently we improved outdoor living areas with lots of shade and fans for reading or just enjoy the sway of the huge blue Bamboo growing in the backyard. It has a full kitchen and a very handy dishwasher. The house is cozy in just the right way. Its two suites feel large and separate. The living area is open and inviting. We invite you to Ocala and all it has to offer.

Just like home!
This property was so clean and comfortable, very well stocked for cooking. It truly felt like coming home, very relaxing backyard and plenty of inside space! Very quiet and clean for my infant daughter! We were a stones throw from Silver Springs state park and visited the campground which was even closer, great location!

Great Location in Urban Setting
A very nice house in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street so modest traffic. During drive times the nearby street can be very noisy with traffic. Typical Ocala, during busy times of the day, traffic can be heavy very light rest of the day. Home is well equipped with everything normally needed. Host very accommodating, purchased a gas grill while we visited. Cons: the couch is a sleeper and not real comfortable unless you are very tall like long legs. Unless the foldout couch is used this house accommodates two adults. The trundle bed is designed for children, very short and difficult to negotiate upper bed. While the property description mentions fenced yard ,it is not enclosed. We only allowed our dogs outside when we were with them in the back decks and yard. They learned to stay with us. Ocala also has an excellent dog park at which Reggy and Laci as well as ourselves made many new friends. We enjoyed two wonderful months in Julie’s home and highly recommend a stay here. I

Cute eclectic bungalow-couple of glitches
First of all you can tell that the property owner put a lot of their personal items and touches in the property. It was my particular taste so I really liked all of the personal touches. The aesthetic was very artsy and I loved it. The appearance of the home was very nice. Unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable and neither was the couch. The location was good and that it was very close to the national forest but the neighborhood itself leaves a little bit to be desired. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals . My main complaint is that the toilet in the master bathroom was not working and after initially being very responsive when I first let the owner know about the issue, she then stopped responding to me and the toilet was never fixed. One of the reasons we chose this listing was because they were two full bathrooms. We also saw several roaches during our stay, and I understand that it’s Florida in the summertime… I’m from Florida. But still, with a baby in the house and a 4 year old it made me uncomfortable. Other than that the house was clean and it felt clean until I saw the bugs. Overall the stay was good, but there is room for improvement here. We ended up leaving a day early for a couple of reasons, one of them being that the sleeping arrangements were not ideal for us.

Lovely well equipped home
This home was a perfect place to stay for a long weekend exploring the Springs and bike trails. The entire home was renovated including both bathrooms and kitchen. The home was well equipped with anything you might need and more. Outside relaxing spaces were plentiful. The hostess was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed having the garage for our bikes and a pet friendly property. I thoroughly reccomend this Ocala home for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience.

Why they chose this property

When I was a young girl growing up in Miami, at least once a year my parents would pack up the car, and we (mom, dad, older brother) would drive 6hrs up hwy 27 to Ocala to visit my Norwegian Grandmother and my Swedish Grandfather (better known as Hoppie). They had a really cool silver “Gulfstream” trailer. That is where they liked to visit when the Miami summer got too hot. They settled in the “Ocala National Forest”. My Grandmother and I use the take a long walk through the many trails that the park has to offer. She would tell me ghost stories about an abandoned house or a special tree. I would get so scared and excited. I always wanted to explore these places. I imagine she told me these stories to discourage me and my adventurous spirit. Well, it backed fired. The one thing that always quenched my adventurous spirit was to go to the “Juniper Springs” swimming hole in “The National Forests”. The whole family enjoyed it. We all went swimming in the clear cool water, took long walks down the wooded walkways, and cooked out making the perfect picnic. The park came out of President Roosevelt’s “New Deal”. It is an extremely special place. Years later after both of my Grandparents passed away I was lucky enough to get a permit and become an official photographer for the Park. Best job ever! Now, whenever my husband and I have free time we pack up the canoe and a picnic and have new adventures. There have been some great one
