Close to river for fishing, canoes, kayaks, tubing, swimming, antiques in town
Our cabin on the grounds of Old Camp Miramichee, which was THE YWCA camp for girls and young women, lies less than two minutes from the Southfork of the Spring river, and it is indeed a place of rest and refreshment. Once the kitchen of the dining hall for Camp Miramichee, our cabin has been converted to a two bedroom, one full bath cabin with full kitchen facilities, and a lounge area equipped with satellite television for your enjoyment and relaxation. The large porch facing the parking area was once the place for campers to have snacks given to us by Ophelia, our cook. The memories of banana pudding and bug juice linger. This cabin lies in close proximity to the Southfork of the Spring River—less than a two minute walk.. One may enjoy swimming, canoeing, fishing, or simply sitting by the river watching and listening to the water flow and re-creating oneself after a busy work week. Should you, our guest, be more adventurous, horseback riding, golfing, and a new zipline as well as an array of other activities are available in the nearby areas. The Cabin is closed and winterized from November 1-Approximately April 15th of each year. Opening dates will be dependent upon the weather in Hardy.

My grown daughter and I stayed here for a weekend away, and to do a little shopping in Hardy. Loved the cabin, it had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We will stay there again! Talking about making it a tradition.
Very sweet manager and very helpful thank you ladies

Glad you were pleased with our cabin. Do come again. Our Cabin 21 across from the Pub/Grill will be open year-round if you should want to come up and have some make memory time.
My best friend and I had a wonderful time here! Close to everything. The cabin has everything you need! The beds are so comfortable! The screened in porch was so nice! No worry about mosquitos!
We went rafting with the company River Stop and they were wonderful as well!
All and all, was a great weekend get-a-way for me and my best friend!!
Very clean, old cabin. Walked over to the “dance floor” and down by the river. Pretty rough area. Loved the cabin though! Great meal at Lakeview Cafe in Cherokee!

Margaret, I am so happy that you had a good time. Carol's always has good food and so does the Pill Box especially for lunches. I had one of the best BLT's ever, from there.
Safe travels!!!
Carolyn
The rock house is in good shape, the kitchen well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. The listing says two minutes to river, but you have to drive over a low water bridge that is too slick to walk across. There is a spot to park near the river, but there is no access point for a kayak or swimming.

My wife and I have stayed at this cabin several times over the past few years. We have enjoyed each stay and appreciate the personal touch of dealing directly with the owner. The inside of the cabin is clean and comfy but we spend little time inside. When we are at the cabin we hang out on the screened in porch. There is plenty of room, no bugs, and we often get to listen in to the concerts across the river. It is easy to get to and from the cabin and now is close to a liquor store if you desire an adult beverage. This place is perfect for a peaceful weekend at the river.

Cute little cabin. Not anywhere near where VRBO map showed, and was the only reason for booking. Cabin was 30 minutes away from where we thought we were staying. Cabin was mainly clean, but shower/tub was not cleaned before we stayed. Cabin's screened in front porch and firepit faces directly to the neighbor's house and yard. Neighbors were also under construction remodeling their house, so our stay was hammering and sawing in the day, and into the night, where the neighbors used lights to keep working. Would not stay here again.

Cute cabin
Quiet place. Enjoyed that. Beds were comfortable too.
We greatly enjoyed our stay! Mrs. Carolyn went above and beyond with directions, places to eat and places to shop! The cabin was equipped with everything you could possibly need besides clothes and food! We will definitely be back!

Cute cabin
Cabin was clean & cozy! I loved the history aspect since it was once part of the camp. However, river access was not convenient. You had to wade through a stream or trespass on neighbors property to get to it.
I do not think that the writer meant what she wrote, and did not know that what the chart stood for..ie the meaning of one star versus 5 stars. I believe that given the opportunity she would modify her review.
Check in was easy. She texted me the info the morning of checkin. Easy to find with the directions provided. It’s located close to downtown Hardy and the float place we used was within 5 minutes. There’s even a little pub across the road that we went to and sang karaoke. The cabin was quiet and didn’t have any issues at all. We used the grill to make steaks and they even had charcoal for us to use. Very happy with the stay. We will be back!!!
My husband and I came for a relaxing trip. That is what we got. Very low key and relaxing. The cabin is so clean and has about anything you would need. Carolyn was wonderful to make sure we had it all. Definitely will stay again. Thanks so much!!

Tomesa, do come again!
I am delighted that you all had a relaxing weekend.

Helpful, friendly host. We were the first to rent the cabin for the season. The cabin did not smell musty or "closed-up". I expected it to smell like it handy been aired out, etc, but no such smell. Also, no smoking allowed in cabin, so we didn't have to deal with that leftover enclosed nicotine smoke smell. There was a little charcoal left over in the screened-in porch and we grilled steaks. It was a little cold to get in the river but we did have a look. Clean, the bed had a mattress topper that was very comfortable for my back. My husband hated the thick pillows but that's just a matter of preference. That's why I bring my own pillow with me where ever i travel.
The cabon was so relaxing. You had nothing to stress over. Carolyn was very helpful
We arrived at the cabin with no problem. Direction where very detailed and easy to follow. The only thing you had to supply was ypur clothing and food. Everything else right down to fans was in the cabin. Very nice!
We had a great time in Hardy. Cute little shops, friendly people, and floating the river was very fun. If you are wanting to get away to where tome forgot this is the place! The cabin..looked quite run down on the outside however the inside was very clean and homey. The keyless entry worked when it decided to. The owner was very nice when we spoke with her about it but our cell service was shotty at best there. It was overall a great experience

I am a former camper of Camp Miramichee and enjoyed many wonderful summers up in Hardy AR. Love to canoe and swim in the refreshing waters of the Spring River. .
Why they chose this property
This cabin used to be Kitchen preparation area of the Dining Hall of Old Camp Miramichee.
What makes this property unique
Very close proximity to the River for enjoying canoeing with friends. Also nice to just hang out and enjoy some rest from the rat race of everyday city life. Great food, great people!!!
