About this property

540+ Acre Retreat! Stunning! Hot Tub! Crater Lake!

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful location. This private and pristine landscape offers tranquil views of the valley floor and mountains. You can hike and view wildlife while experiencing the peaceful solitude of the mountains around you.

Miles of private trails will lead you to tranquil views of Mt Shasta and Mt. McLoughlin. Trails are suitable for hiking, horses, ATV, snowmobiles and other off road vehicles when fire season is not in effect.

Get back in touch with nature and family time! We have a great play room complete with games, puzzles and a pool table... the real retreat here is shutting off the outside world, disconnecting, and enjoying family time and nature. We do have internet access, however it is not very fast and will not support many people streaming (not a limitation of our equipment),

Our VRBO listing is relatively new - For more reviews, please check out the "other" site known as air bed and bre*kf*st where we have nearly a 5.0 star rating!

Can't wait to come back here
Amazing forest land with a great house and wonderful hot tub. So peaceful and serene. The house was great and had everything we needed for our short stay. I've never stayed on a property this large. We hiked for miles! It was a little warm during our stay - the house doesn't have AC but we followed the instruction in the house manual and the house stayed below 74° and cooled off from there during the night. It was great!

Beyond amazing - truly incredible experience
We wish we could give this home 10 stars. We hesitated booking at first because there was a bad review. That bad review couldn't have been more wrong....not sure they reviewed the right place! We are so glad we booked here. Everything was available in the home that we needed for our stay. Everything was super clean and they even provided soap and shampoo. The kitchen had plenty of spices and basic dry goods available which was an added bonus. It was a perfect location for our adventures to Crater Lake as well as being close to town. The trails through the forest are great and gave us a good workout. We enjoyed coming back to a luxurious hot tub. Can't wait to stay here again!

It was ok
We checked out early due to a family emergency. We were told there was someone staying in a trailer parked on the property but none of the pictures showed the fact it was about a 100 ft. from the front door. There were no window coverings except the master bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom had a lot of personal items that did not allow much room for our things. Kind of felt let we were visitors instead of homeaway from home.

About the host

We are a family who spends time together. Whether it's recreating, working in the portable saw mill, building something new or hiking the property we love to spend time outside. We do not have cable TV because our focus is on family not staring at a tv. We occasionally watch a movie or netflix, but we love puzzles in the winter and family dinners around the table.

Why they chose this property

Our home is perfect being 15 minutes from stores, restaurants and the hospital but yet it feels so rural. You get back in touch with nature and the beauty of life. You can shut off the outside world. No sirens, no neighbors yelling disturbing your peace, just the beauty of the birds singing and an occasional yip of a coyote. This is a retreat from the outside world. Our internet is the best available in our area but it is slow. If you need high speed internet and many people using it, our home may not be the place for you. But if you want to explore, hike and relax then you'll love our home, your home away from home.

What makes this property unique

Life is so peaceful! Hike to the top and see the beautiful views of the valley, lake and Mt Shasta on clear days. Lay in bed and hear the birds singing. Climb into the hot tub at night and see the amazing glow of stars. Its just a place to fall in love with!
