About this property

Big Bear Tent at Laurel Oaks Estate

So far our little AC units have been working great, but please keep in mind, the primary purpose of the Air Condition units is to keep it comfortable when sleeping. During the day when we are hitting over 100 degrees, no AC unit is going to keep an uninsulated tent at a cool 60-70 degrees. Most of our guests have stuff planned during the day and come back in the evening so there are no issues. We just like to give everyone notice upfront.

If you are looking for a camping experience, but still want to enjoy the luxuries of home then our Big Bear tent is the one for you! We are 20 miles from Myrtle Beach, and just a short drive to beautiful downtown Conway, SC. There you will find shopping, amazing restaurants, and the Riverwalk.
Alongside the tent is a fire pit, picnic table, hammock, outdoor kitchen and gas grill.
Take a stroll on one of our many trails that backs up to the National Wildlife Refuge or fish at our pond.

We try to have everything you need to provide you with an AMAZING "Glamping" experience. Whether you are looking to sit by the camp fire, or just looking to cuddle up in our cozy queen size bed, our "Big Bear" tent is for you!

Inside you will find a cozy queen sized bed, two night stands, futon couch, giant 5' Memory Foam Bean Bag chair large enough for a child to sleep on, table and chairs, heater, fans, and extra blankets to keep warm on the chilly winter nights. We will also provide a coffee maker, plates, cups, and a few pots and pans to make all your essential camp meals. There is an outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator, prep area, lockable food storage, and a gas grill. You can't have true luxury without AC during our hot summer months, so all our places are now air conditioned!

You are welcome to set up at no more than 2 extra tents if you have extra guests. The booking of our tent includes up to 4 adults. A rate of $10 per person will apply for additional people.

There is hot water for showers, a sink with storage below, and a restroom.

We can’t guarantee everyone will see any of these since they are not our actual pets, a few of the animals you may encounter while staying at
Laurel Oaks Estate are:
peacocks, fish, anoles (lizards), ponies/horses, ginny chickens, roosters, cows, alligators, spiders, rabbits, snakes, bees, ducks, geese, owls, birds, and deer and several others that you would normally find in the South Carolina forest.

We have the following available for additional costs.
Firewood- $12/bundle
Bottled water- $5 per 6 pack
Marshmallows- $3
Graham crackers- $5 a box
Hersey's chocolate- $3
Toothbrush- $5
Toothpaste- $5

We are also two miles from the Pitch Landing boat launch on the Waccamaw River and 10 miles from Bucksport Marina So feel free to bring your boat, kayak, or canoe along with you! We also provide a john boat, paddle boat, and kayaks for you to enjoy on our pond.

We came for a short time, two nights. It was peaceful, convenient, and beautiful. The owners were great and took good care of us.

Absolutely perfect
This property is beautiful. Definitely worth the stay. The kids enjoyed watching the lizards playing tag on the tent, and the bathroom frog.

Lovely “Glamping” experience!
My husband, kids and I were visiting South Carolina to vacation with other family members in Myrtle. Before staying with them we wanted a night to ourselves somewhere quiet and relaxing. This was the perfect place! The tent was much larger than I was expecting. Having lights, air conditioning, a functioning bathroom/shower and outdoor kitchen made the stay comfortable all while still getting that rustic camping feel. The hosts provided all their contact information as well as info on the property, surrounding restaurants and things to do and were very attentive. We spent the night out by the fire roasting marshmallows and took a quick walk down to the pond in the morning for a boat ride. The toys provided for the kids were a nice surprise, they ran around with water guns and played corn hole until they were tired out, then we relaxed in the hammock until it was time to move on to our next vacation adventure. This was our first trip to SC but now that we have been here we can’t wait to come back, and we will definitely be Glamping at Laurel Oaks again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay :)
