Met all our check marks

Perfect for everything we needed. Cute and cozy, and 12 miles from our son’s home. Our granddaughter stayed over one of the nights and loved having her own space (she is 4). We Will definitely stay again.

This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had. The property was falsely listed as "lake front" and "lake view" it is neither. The property was overgrown and the cabin was run down, delapidated and a serious safety hazard on many levels. This property needs extensive repairs before it should be allowed to participate as a VRBO rental.I experienced a fall in the living room when I stepped into a sunken area in the floor where broken and missing portions of a stone hearth were hidden by a throw rug. I fell against the stone fireplace and tore skin from my hand and elbow. The first aid kit in the cabin didn't even have a bandaid in it. On further examination there was another area outside the bathroom with broken and missing floor tiles that had also been covered with a throw rug. Other safety issues include broken boards on the hand rail of the entrance ramp that are sticking up with protruding screws. There are also floor boards on this ramp that are not secured that pose a huge tripping hazard. Another serious safety issue is the kitchen faucet and shower fixture both put out only hot water no matter which way you move the lever posing a scalding hazard.
Overgrown vegetation in front of house
Broken flooring in front of fireplace that cause a fall due to it being hidden by a throw rug
Broken and missing floor tile outside of the bathroom also covered with a throw rug

Great Little Family Weekend Getaway

All though the cabin wasn’t exactly how the pictures on the website looked, we did have a great time and I did recommend to several of my colleagues and we figured it must’ve looked like that when they first purchased it , because now a lot of things need updating/repairing ,but overall such a charming cozy cabin

Simply charming!

We absolutely loved the quiet neighborhood and the beautiful lake in Coventry. The house is charming and a great place to relax and escape from your busy life. We enjoyed evenings by the fire pit and our days at the lake. There are a lot of great restaurants and antique shops nearby. We’ll definitely be back!

Remember; this is a lake home. There WILL be an amount of nature involved in your stay. (cobwebs, mosquitos, etc.) The property had everything I needed. Fully stocked with linens, paper products, toiletries and Keurig coffees. The dog run was a real plus; it allowed my pet to have a vacation too! The manager was very responsive and thorough.

The location was lovely but the condition of the property was lacking.

The property has an exposed gas line, uneven flooring and a poorly appointed kitchen. The dog run was handy but some consistent lighting would have been appreciated. The outdoor lighting was motion activated and motion sensor didn’t reach the dog run.

Coventry Lake

My friend and I had an enjoyable time at the lake house. Unfortunately, the lake was not available due to algae bloom/cyanotoxins. The property manager did not let us know that this was the case until after we had already booked the property, though the announcement about the lake closure had taken place a few days before. We would have appreciated knowing about it before booking, as we were particularly interested in spending time on the lake. The house itself was fairly comfortable and had everything we needed for a few days away.

Lakehouse was definitely a lake house

The listing was slightly misleading as it was not on the lake but a quick walk from it. The insulation was not super for the colder nights but was not bad. The beds were some of the least comfortable I have ever slept on. There were also large brown stains on the sheets in the bedroom in the back that almost looked like blood. The curtain was also stained with a large brown stain at the top. The dog run was the biggest disappointment. There is a large hole between the house and the fence which allowed by 80 pound dog to squeeze through. That should tell you all you need to know about the size of the hole. I contacted the host for something to block it with, but they said there wasn't anything. I would look else where for a place that has an area for dogs.

Pet friendly Camp

A small 2-bedroom Camp with a nice, grassy, fenced area for our two show dogs. It was OK for the time we needed at a U-Conn event. It is rustic, but clean and bug free. The door to the deck was a bit sticky to lock, and the ‘threshold’ leading on to the deck is ready to ‘give way’, so we were careful to avoid stepping on it. Back indoors, the flooring is not level (hall to bedroom). Several of the ‘lights’ were not working (kitchen & bathroom over the sinks). The gas stove works, but the knobs do not match the ‘dial indicataor’ (left front was actually right front). There is also a distinct ‘gas’ smell when the oven is on. Most of the windows opened which helped clear the musty/moldy smell of the place. A couple of visible wires under a kitchen cupboard were ‘capped off’, so we didn’t attempt to use the switches near the sink. We recommend the owner: fix the Kitchen cupboard & bathroom lighting. Address the stove issue, and dangling wires under a cupboard. Replace the threshold at the deck before it falls off. Repair the back door jamb and get a new door. Check all areas of the deck and replace faulty boards — so folks can enjoy the lovely yard. We’ve spent years working on our 100 yr old ‘camp’, and know the time & $’s it takes to breathe new life into a fixer upper. Please accept this review in the spirit it is given.

Cabin was misrepresented in upkeep and cleanliness. We’re from Vermont and very familiar with the charm and quirks of New England nature. We fully embrace the camp vibe and vintage feel of the home. However, several issues we encountered seem to go beyond rustic charm and into areas of disrepair:All air conditioning units had visible black mold inside the vents, could see mold on units outside, and they emited an unpleasant smell when turned on.There were no screens in the windows of the front bedroom, so could not open them for ventilation. The window above the kitchen sink was non-functional and did not open. Two burners on the stove were non- functional.Damp, dirty towels were left in the hamper upon our arrival. There was a large tear in the kitchen screen (behind the kitchen table), possibly caused by a pet.The tile leading into the back bedroom and in front of the fireplace was significantly damaged, with sharp edges and uneven surfaces.

Property had heavy odor of strong cleaning products/ Industrial style air freshener plugins while the back of the house had a heavy odor of mold, the floors in the house were different levels uneven surfaces and were a tripping hazard as well as backyard stairs had broken cement on steps and the area around the fireplace which were covered repeated on steps and the area around the fireplace which was covered with a rug was an inch lower than the rest of the floor my husband was the first one through the door and the first one to the back of the house and he was the first one to notice the mold smell I noticed it immediately as well

Cozy and relaxing

The cabin is super cozy and we felt right at home. This is just what we needed for some r&r that wasn’t too far from where we live. The cabin is located on a secluded street and the neighbors were super friendly. The lake was less than 5 minutes away by walking. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the docks. Such a great host, good communication throughout, perfect little lake cottage with lots of privacy in a quiet, quaint community. Close to the lake and pretty central for venturing out to explore CT. Misleading

Let me say first, my wife and I owned a VRBO and never received one negative review. We also had a cleaning company that cleaned rentals for a rental company that came behind the cleaners to make sure the cleaning was up to their standards. The following are just a few negative examples, ice trays were empty, tea pot had a rusty bottom, kitchen was dark in the counter area (under counter light didn't work). Leaking facet in kitchen, water was rotting wood under sink giving off offensive odor. Rotting wood somewhere outside main bedroom, offensive odor being pulled in by A/C unit. Back door so out of shape, I had to push with my shoulder to get it to close. Bathroom door very tight to close or open, as was the main bedroom door. Dining table had crack, could be a safety issue. Outside courtyard full of debris. Outside table was dirty and needed to be washed to use it. All the windows were full of cobwebs and spiders. The floors were filthy, as evidenced by the dirt on my socks. Shower handle had no screw to keep it attached. I received an email from the property manager telling me that he had received "complaints from the neighbors" that we had too many vehicles and people at the property, which is 3 vehicles and 6 people. Really? We had 3 vehicles for 2 days and 6 people one day. Someone needs math classes, or the property manager is using this as a business practice to "help" guests behave. All that being sad, this property does not meet the VRBO standard we expect.

This is a comfy, rustic cabin. It was so much better than staying in a hotel, as we cooked our meals, washed laundry, had more privacy with two bedrooms and saved a lot by chosing this. There was plenty of room for my son and his friend to visit us.
