What a beautiful property! Even though the weather didn’t cooperate for us, we had a fantastic stay. The place is clean, and check-in instructions were easy. The views were out of this world! Definitely recommend!

Breathtaking views, comfortable and clean.

First drive up was a bit scarey but the accom and view more than made up for it. We could have spent our entire stay camped out in this place and been very happy. Our host was helpful and very responsive throughout the whole booking process and our stay. Thank you

Gorgeous View

This location was just perfect - the view alone would have sold us, but the house also was very clean, and was located right across from the bus stop. Xiufen was extremely responsive and set us up on advance with the Panorama pass which makes most bus trips free, and gives discounts on some attractions. Suggest to take train to Thun and bus to the location. Close to a walking suspension bridge and nice trail, also close to an extensive cave system worth visiting.

I Can’t Get Over the View!

This was a great place to relax with a good view and explore the Lake Thun and Interlaken area. It was away from all the tourists and was so relaxing. The stay here also gave us free use of the basic bus system in this area which was very nice. This place was perfect for us and we’d love to come again sometime.

Blissful mountain retreat

Lovely, quiet lodging with gorgeous view and decks. Was unaware of lodger in lower level in property description, but he was very kind and allowed us laundry access. Highly recommend!

Amazing Chalet

We stayed at Xanadu for Ironman weekend. The chalet was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Amazing views. Bus stop is 1 minute away. Host was always gracious and super responsive. Very quite and relaxing place to stay. Highly recommend.

A gorgeous chalet overlooking from high above Thunersee. Well appointed with awe inspiring views. No need for TV as the view of the Jungfrau and surrounding Alps knows your socks off! Communication with Xiufen the owner was quick and clear.

Clean and comfortable. Large bathroom and bedrooms. Visited in April but would love to come back in summer and sit on balcony! A comfortable chair for the livingroom would have made it perfect!

Stunning views

This property fit our needs perfectly for our short stay in Interlaken. The location was great with stunning views of the lake and alps. It was a 30 minute drive to Interlaken and a 20 minute drive to Thun. The sounds of church bells and cow bells fill the air and along with the incredible views of the Alps only enhance your trip to this beautiful Country.

beautiful views and clean chalet

Wonderful location, we rented a car and stayed for 2 nights, it was easy to drive to Interlaken and Thun. The mountain view is gorgeous and the chalet has everything you need except washer/dryer. There are rules including quiet hours/no showers after 10pm which we did not know beforehand, which would have been appreciated. Otherwise a great stay.

The view overlooking the lake is stunning! The chalet was very clean and had thoughtful touches. The location is perfect for exploring Thun, Interlaken and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. We enjoyed grocery shopping nearby and preparing a few meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We slept so well in the comfortable beds and the country quiet. The owner was very responsive and flexible. Our favorite Vbro so far!

A really well equipped chalet in a brilliant location with an almost 180 degree panoramic view. Our only comment is that for a property capable of accommodating up to 4 adults, we were surprised that it was not provided with a washing machine. A TV would have also been welcome

Lake Thun Escape

We were thrilled to stay in this comfortable VRBO with the most magnificent views of Lake Thun. We have been spending a month in Italy and Switzerland on our delayed honeymoon and this spot we did not want to leave. It was a magical home. We were pleasantly surprised by the community of Sigriswil. It did not feel touristy, but we had access to fabulous hiking near Lauterbrunnen and boating on the lakes. We loved our stay!

Exceeded our expections!

Wow. It was everything we hoped for - gorgeous views, lovely decor, very clean and inviting with personal touches, a well-equipped kitchen, your own parking space, very responsive hosts (thank you, Xiufen!), a perfect spot from which to go sightseeing (castles, caves, breathtaking mountain passes) - we are so happy we found Chateau Xanadu!

The views were top notch, it was wonderful to see the different phases of the weather/clouds and the alps. The host was responsive. The home was clean and nice but a bit further out of town than I expected. The stairs to get to the front door were challenging for my elderly parents. If I had known there were so many stairs (in the dark), I would not have booked it with them. The previous guest had broken the dining room light, which didn't sound like a big deal but there was only one small lamp for the entire first floor. No tv or extra lighting was a challenge. We cooked in the dark as the kitchen had no lighting either. Overall, it was as described and a nice comfortable place to stay at a reasonable rate. It just wasn't the best fit for my parents who have mobility issues.

Incredible scenery

Pictures do not do this place justice! The views are incredible every direction you look. The magnitude of the mountains and the lake are mind boggling. 2 big balconies have plenty of comfortable seating, and the entire unit is well furnished. It is important for people with mobility issues to know that you have to walk down 29 steps to get from the parking area to the front door. Also, the only bathroom and both bedrooms are upstairs in the chalet. My husband is waiting for a new knee and new hip, plus I have arthritis in both feet. We struggled thru it and enjoyed the best scenery of any place we've ever visited. It was truly the trip of a lifetime.

Excellence choice for peace and quiet

Loved our Swiss Chalet up in the hills between Thun and Interlaken. Unlike staying in town we had peace and quiet, and the view was astounding. We rented a car for our stay and I really recommend it. The public transport in Switzerland is efficient and easy, but this place is somewhat remote. If you want the flexibility of coming and going whenever you like, consider a car. We used Swiss Mobility and it couldn't have been easier...picked it up right at the train station in Spiez and unlocked it via the smart phone app. Bonus- it's FUN driving on those windy roads! Back to the chalet- clean, comfortable, great balconies, and again the view +the silence was relaxing and renewing. Host was friendly and communicated very well. Highly recommend.
