About this property

Gîte du Chanet - LOUHANS-CHATEAURENAUD

Chantal (passionate about wild plants & nature) and Philippe open the doors of an authentic traditional 19th century Bresse residence (old "farmhouse" of the country longère type) completely rehabilitated & revisited, nestled in a quiet area at the end of a small dead end, in the heart of a scattered rural hamlet residential & agricultural. In the heart of the Louhans countryside, nestled in the hollow of a plain of fields of crops & meadows, on the edge of a small forest, a stone's throw from the banks of the Seille (bucolic river full of fish & navigable protected in ZNIEFF & "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable faunal & flora ecosystems). Soothing gentle countryside around perfectly preserved to explore, rich in contrasting & ultra varied landscapes. Not far from the medieval and commercial town centre of Louhans, capital of Bresse, famous for its iconic "Rue aux 157 arcades", a shopping street surrounded by picturesque facades preserved from the 14th to the 16th century, as well as for its "Monday market" labelled "Remarkable Site of Taste" (one of the most important retail poultry markets in France), with a very rich historical heritage (remains of old ramparts, remarkable medieval buildings including several towers and private mansions, 14th century church, 17th century Hôtel Dieux, etc.), an exotic river marina, numerous sports and leisure facilities and all the amenities. Comfortable gîte. Warm country character with contemporary accents. Cozy atmosphere. Intimate and pleasant garden nestled behind hedges in the hollow of a soft plant barrier. Composition: Gîte adjoining the owners' accommodation and another accommodation occupied all year round (total independence). Wifi (fiber). Electric heating + wood stove. Gîte on the ground floor on one level: living room-kitchen-lounge, 1 bedroom (double bed 140x190cm), shower room (shower/WC). Private garden + parking. Carport. Supermarket 2.5 km. All amenities 6 km away. Between "town & countryside" close to all amenities! Authentic traditional 19th century Bresse residence, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in a peaceful, scattered rural hamlet, 6 km from Louhans, the capital of Bresse, steeped in history, known for its iconic medieval shopping street with "157 arcades" (one of the most remarkable of its type in France and Europe) and for its highly regarded "Monday market" labeled "Remarkable Site of Taste" (all amenities on site including a supermarket 2.5 km away and a very good level of sports and leisure facilities). In the heart of the Bresse Louhannaise countryside, nestled on the edge of fields & wooded meadows, a stone's throw from the banks of the Seille (protected in ZNIEFF & "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable ecosystems), a preserved bucolic setting, combining agriculture & nature between bocage plains dotted with ponds & rivers, beautiful wild forests & mountainous foothills of the nearby Jura massif (GR59 & famous GRP of the "Bresse Comtoise" to explore). Prime location, not far from the Romanesque church circuit, adjoining the routes of various marked hiking trails in "green walks" (first accessible 1.5 km away / very extensive network of hiking trails of the same type to explore on foot or by mountain bike in the area), 3 km from the Green Route "Voie Bressane" adjoining the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike) linked to the Blue Route (along the Saône) & Green Route of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (both accessible around thirty km away) as well as the Green Route of Bresse Jurassienne (junction 23 km away), nestled between the world-renowned vineyards of Southern Burgundy (Côtes Mâconnaises, Côtes Chalonnaises, Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune) & the vineyards of the Jura (first vines around twenty away) kms / various wine routes to explore including the "Route des Grands Vins" & the famous "Route des Grands Crus"). In the heart of Bresse Bourguignonne - the birthplace of the renowned AOC Bresse poultry - at the crossroads of Chalonnais, Tournugeois-Clunisois (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), Mâconnais and Bresse de l'Ain & Jura. Privileged location at the crossroads of the Ain & Jura departments (A39 14 km): 15 km from the Bresse racing circuit (multi-activity car, motorcycle and karting on 48 ha), 24 km from the medieval city of Romenay, 24 km from Cuisery ("the Book Village"), 24 km from Cuiseaux ("the Painters' Village"), 28 km from Lons-le-Saunier, 32 km from the rare Truchère Nature Reserve, 32 km from Tournus (world-renowned abbey site), 42 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "City of Art & History") & 46 km from Seurre.
