We were going in and out quickly. But we loved having s’mores on the campfire. House was spacious and cozy feeling. Beds were comfortable. We wished we Culd have stayed for a few days. For sure a spot to go back to. View is beautiful.
The guest house was the perfect little get away, it was quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Clay was very accommodating and I would definitely recommend the guest house, to others, as a place to stay.
We stopped here on our way to MT and it was a great place to get some sleep and get out of the truck. They suggested Bobbi Jo’s Branding Iron for supper and it didn’t disappoint:) Thanks!!
Cute bunk house in the middle of nowhere. Loved the fire pit, house was very clean, great communication with Clay. We travel to the area often and will book again.
"Stunning view of Chimney Rock" is an old farmhouse located on a farm outside of Bayard, NE, with the new house next door. Beautiful views of Chimney Rock and the nearby farmland. Several co-workers and I booked it for a short work trip in the area, and it was an affordable solution to our lodging needs.
Pros:
- Great and prompt communication from the host. Some soap etc was missing from the bathroom, and he quickly dropped some off
- Easy check-in/out process
- Great views, and peaceful location
- Nice deck and firepit out back
- Affordable cost
Unfortunately, I have to point out a few cons as well:
- The window in one of the bedrooms was broken. The top frame of the bottom panel of the window was completely missing, leaving a half inch gap to the outside across the entire window. We had to stuff a towel in there to keep out the heat and bugs. Additionally, the window shades were in bad shape. This is a big enough issue it should have been fixed, or at least disclosed prior to our stay.
- Only one wall unit AC in the house. Not the end of the world, but the bedrooms do get a bit warm. This could be improved by putting a couple fans in the house probably.
Overall, this house met our needs, but has some issues that should be addressed. We weren't expecting anything fancy, but a completely broken window should be addressed.
It was a very nice property out in the country. You could definitely see Chimney Rock from there. Also, for some reason we had issue with GPS and got sent to wrong location. Property owner went above and beyond to get out of his house late at night and come get us. lol So sorry about that though!
Will definitely be first choice for a place for my children and I when I come to visit them. Comfortable and quiet. Super clean and host was fast to get back to any questions I had!
Clay was so nice and helpful. Really enjoyed his rental. It was relaxing and just what we needed.

Took care of our needs
The title is an exaggeration as is the line in the description saying there is a spectacular view of Chimney Rock. There isn’t much of a view of Chimney Rock, but we are also from a place where views are stunning and spectacular, and we weren’t there for a view. This stay was clean minus some dust on the TV stand and the leftover bar of soap in the shower. Easy access. Very private. If we had stayed longer we would have tried the fire pit area. We also like the cats, one even tried to come in the house and did get into our car when we loaded up. We would have also have liked to have found and seen her kittens but alas time. FYI: this stay is significantly away from any amenities however we did not mind. We liked the dirt road drive.

The house is set up perfect. Had everything we needed and more. Quiet as a mouse in the area it is located. You do have to drive on gravel about a mile or so but road is well maintained. We would definitely stay there again.
I gave the house/camp 4 stars because it was not luxury living, but it what I expected/needed. It is a simple little house/camp with some upgrades. It is not luxurious by any standards and really out in the country on a dirt road (between Chimney Rock and Scott's Bluff). However, if you rent with that in mind, you won't be disappointed. The living room and kitchen are huge. It has a beautiful newly remodeled bathroom (that could use a towel rack), a new washer and dryer, and great outdoor seating on the deck or in the back by the new fire pit. Some of the screens and blinds need replacing, and the deck is a little worn, but the bed I slept in was comfortable, and the view and solitude are wonderful. As a solo female traveler, I was a bit nervous as the house is very isolated except for the other house on the property, which was empty when I arrived. I relaxed when the owner showed and very much enjoyed meeting his charming son the next day. It's not the Ritz, but you won't find anything better out there.
No complaints on anything. Owner very easy to get a hold of. Stayed here for deer season and it made it nice to be able to come and go with ease. I would definitely stay here again
We were here for one night, on our way to Colorado, and really enjoyed our stay. The view of Chimney Rock at night was incredible, and as we are from EST, we were up early to see the sunrise, which was absolutely beautiful! Scott's Bluff is an easy drive from this place, and is well worth seeing. The home was very clean and comfortable, and we wished that we had more time to spend in the area. Thank-you for your hospitality!
