Provence: Crossing city apartment, quiet, very bright, terrace. 2 stars.
Located on the second and top floor of a bourgeois stone house dating from 1850, formerly a coaching inn, this brand-new 70 m² apartment with a terrace was created in 2024-2025. The apartment offers unobstructed views from every side, with no overlooking neighbors. It is exceptionally well-insulated (interior wall lining, extra roof insulation, double glazing), ensuring a comfortable temperature year-round and excellent soundproofing. The interior lining is made from bio-sourced materials, meaning they are organic and environmentally friendly. The apartment also benefits from the comfort of a heat pump, providing heating or air conditioning depending on the season. To ensure undisturbed nights for those sensitive to Wi-Fi signals, internet access is provided via RJ45 sockets (included) in every room. The apartment is connected to fiber optic internet. This bright, dual-aspect apartment overlooks a quiet, truck-free avenue on one side and gardens on the other, with views extending to the mountains (Montagne de la Lance, 1400 m) and surrounding hills. It offers all modern conveniences, including an induction cooktop, multi-function oven, and refrigerator-freezer. It also features a television (80 x 50 cm), a VCR, and a stereo system with a CD player. The bedroom is spacious (18 m²), as are the kitchen (16 m²) and the bathroom, which includes a bathtub with a seat. Ample parking is available nearby. All shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre, open-air market... are on-site, within walking distance. Bicycles can be stored in the owner's garage on-site. Valréas is in Provence, in a region still untouched by mass tourism, allowing you to savor the beauty of the Provençal landscapes in peace and freedom: its ever-blue skies, exceptional light, mountains and hiking trails, countless perched villages, mountain streams, gastronomy, traditional festivals, lakes and water parks! It's the land of lavender and distilleries. A wonderful holiday is guaranteed! From June to July, the blue of the lavender fields is a striking sight among the olive groves, and in July and August, the air is fragrant with distilled lavender. From November to March, winter truffles are harvested, giving rise to the picturesque weekly markets in Richerenches, a village within the Enclave and a very well-preserved former Templar commandery. For centuries, vibrant truffle masses have been held in Richerenches and Valréas every January, with members of the brotherhoods dressed in traditional attire. It is customary for the collection to gather truffles, which are then auctioned off (the truffle auction). This ancient tradition continues to the delight of buyers, visitors, and local farmers alike. Guided tours are available to explore the exceptional heritage of Valréas, linked to its papal history. Various events take place, including the colorful Little Saint John's Day festival at the end of June, a theater festival in July, a flower parade in early August, and flea markets in the summer.
