I'm originally from the northern United States but I've lived in Florida for 10+ years. My husband and I now live in Bartow, FL and we love it's small town vibe and strong sense of community. In our "spare" time we love to experience live music and travel. When we travel, we love talking to the "locals" to get insights into the best places and we're happy to share the same with you!
Why they chose this property
We bought this property in 2021 for many reasons. It's on an acre of land which is difficult to find so close to all of the amenities of the "city"; it's in a great, safe neighborhood (we ourselves live a few blocks away); and when we had family visit we noticed a shortage of housing options close-by. We have very lovingly renovated the home with the weary traveler in mind. The bathrooms have new flooring, new vanities, sinks, faucets, mirrors, shower / tub upgrades, etc. The kitchen has new granite countertops, new sink, faucet, microwave, and the cabinets received a facelift. The whole house has been re-painted and deep cleaned. We put in a new carrier AC unit as well.
What makes this property unique
Bartow is a quaint town with a strong sense of community. It has many attractions itself (antique shops, shopping, restaurants, the main house in the film "My Girl", the "Wonder House", a craft Brewery called "Front Page", etc.) but it is also central to many other attractions. (Legoland, Bok Tower, Circle B Reserve...) It's also about an hour drive from Orlando or the gulf beaches.
