About this property

Sugar Mountain, Creek & Deck Views, 3 mins to Ski Sugar, Firepit

✭✭ Enjoy Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Banner Elk ✭✭

Welcome to our beautiful new stay in an incredible location! Nestled at the entrance of Sugar Mountain, our property features a spacious deck and a tranquil rolling creek with a fire pit and enchanting Edison string lights that create a magical ambiance, day or night. Just across the street, you'll find a restaurant, a pro bike shop, and gem mining activities.

Please note that while this isn't a traditional mountain cabin, no 4x4 vehicle is needed to access it. Experience the chic, boho-style unit within a 3-unit property located on a main road. Winter nights are chilly, so remember to pack warm!

Our brand new unit boasts fresh furniture and fixtures, along with large LED TVs, cozy fireplaces, and ambient lighting for your enjoyment. Please be aware that the property may take up to half an hour to heat up once you turn on the heat. The well-equipped kitchenette is perfect for light cooking, and we happily welcome furry companions on your adventure (a $100.00 non-refundable pet fee applies; please inform us of the number of pets).

Access to our stunning lower deck overlooking the rolling creek is via spiral staircases, which may be slippery in certain weather conditions. Use the steps at your own risk, and please ensure that all children are accompanied by an adult at all times.

For your convenience, the BBQ grill on the bottom deck must be turned off and cleaned after use. Trash should not be left on the lower level; please bag it and deposit it in the dumpster under the billboard.

Renters are responsible for refilling propane tanks ($20) and purchasing firewood ($10) at Lowe's or Food Lion if needed.

Great Location
We really enjoyed our stay. Location was awesome. Restaurants and resorts were easily accessible. We just walked across the street to catch the bus up to Sugar Mountain, no stress over parking. Banner Elk was 7 mins and Beech Mountain was 19 mins away. Great Tex-Mex restaurant right across the street and shops within walking distance. Very adequate room space and very clean. Love the sound of the creek and the back deck. Only recommendation would be adding a few pots for cooking and updating the furniture. The bunk beds were a little shaky. Overall we would definitely come back on our next mountain trip ❤️❤️.

Location was Great
Location to the property was perfect if your skiing/tubing/skating. We spent our entire weekend at the ski resort and the stay was perfect for our needs. The home was clean and very cute. Our cellphone service was completely out. So i didn’t receive any of our check in information until we came back down the mountain ( no fault to owner ) luckily the cleaners were still at the next home down and we were able to get the information from them. The heaters were NOT an issue. It was so extremely hot in the rooms we ended up having to turn them off and not use them at night.

Very disappointed
The place looked nothing like the pictures. Place was dark and poor decor. Shower had a dirty washcloth on the floor and the cups were dirty/sticky. Towels smelled bad. Only one full roll of toilet paper. Did not feel safe with door locks. Very disappointed with this place.

Economical Option for Spring and Fall Months
The property is an economical option for a short term stay close to Sugar Mountain. We had trouble getting our check in information which I think was likely an issue with VRBO and not the property owner, but it took several calls to VRBO to get sorted out. The property itself was clean, but very minimal - understanding it's only a kitchenette it would still be nice to have bowls for cereal in the morning. Also it was almost uninhabitable with how cold it was. We couldn't stay warm- we all slept in thermals and sweatshirts trying to stay warm. I'm guessing it's probably not air conditioned either so I might suggest folks looking to stay here consider it only for spring and fall months. As we only come here to ski during the winter months we wouldn't stay here again.

Charming and Cozy
My daughter, grandsons, and I enjoyed our time in this charming and cozy property. My grandsons enjoyed the bunkbeds, while my daughter and I enjoyed the the decor, fireplace, and especially books. The creek flowing below the deck added an area interesting for our inquisitive grandsons. The property is conveniently located with many restaurants and activities close by. We especially enjoyed Bella’s Italian Restaurant, Bella’s Breakfast in Banner Elk, and Puerto Nuevo Mexican Restaurant. Jorge and his wife were gracious hosts whom we got to meet and were available. Thank you, Jorge, for making our experience in Sugar Mountain memorable! We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

If you want a mountain getaway, we have 6 gorgeous places in beautiful Banner elk North Carolina. "Tynecastle Properties" & "Moreno's Mountain" are in the perfect location for the best skiing, waterfalls and hiking in all the South. There is no end to the activities both summer and winter in this beautiful landscape. Tynecastle Manor has separate 4 units on one large property. Moreno Mountain is a large home up the mountain on an acre and 1/2 lot that has 2 identical 3 story units with a huge deck, fire pit and gorgeous view of the mountains..

Why they chose this property

Tynecastle Manor is a commercial property with a cozy cabin feel. Conveniently located on Tynecastle highway at the exact entrance of Sugar Mountain. We have a huge multilevel deck with a gorgeous rolling creek in back. There are string lights in the trees across the creek and fire pits that make the experience magical. The property is not off a dirt or snowy road that requires 4x4 and there is even a restaurant, gem mining, skiing, tennis, tubing and souvenir shop all in walking distance.

What makes this property unique

The best part of this property is the unique creek & our large deck. Another HUGE benefit is the convenient location.
