Nice location - space fit our family dynamics perfectly
While I booked on the wrong ski mountain (we spent our entire time on Beech and not Sugar), the house itself had good space and plenty for us to do away from the slopes. There were a few maintenance issues but the local Staff was very responsive. With lots of use and at the end of a busy ski season, minor issues weren’t unexpected. The hot tub was great for sore muscles after skiing. We have all become pool sharks from family tournaments every evening! We enjoyed our time together and this home helped us do that.

Wonderful home - Terrible Guest Services
Let me start with please, someone make sure that the garbage has been removed from the bear safe bins at the house before anyone else stays here. The garbage has not been collected since before the 1st of the year; I've gathered this via the reviews and the fact that it was more than overflowing. To put this into context, we stayed the last full week in February. That is completely unacceptable and Vacasa, the guest services, should be ashamed. Secondly, the upstairs fire place will not work & Vacasa will not send anyone out to fix or inspect. We called 3x and were told they would send someone. They did not. I also noticed that other guests had left reviews indicating the fire place needed to be fixed months ago. Again, this should be handled and corrected by Vacasa, the guest services, as their clearly aware there's an issue. The house itself is wonderful and spacious. We have no complaints with the home. Vacasa, on the other hand, needs improvement in all categories. If you read the reviews you'll notice my sentiments are shared.

We'll be back!
This place was fantastic. Perfect size for our group of 8 (two grandparents, two parents, four kids aged 5, 9, 12, and 16) to stay for three days on our ski trip.

Disappointing
We were really excited to stay at this house and when we first arrived, it looked clean and nice. However, once we settled in, we realized that several of the amenities (dishwasher, upstairs fireplace) weren't in working order. While the sheets were clean, the quilts had not been washed in quite some time and were really musty. The house in general was somewhat dated and musty, and several family members went home sick. Also, the trash from previous guests hadn't been taken away so we couldn't take ours out and had to keep it in the house, which wasn't ideal. There were just a lot of small things that added up to our leaving a day early, even though it meant cutting our time together short. We weren't able to speak directly with the property manager to discuss our issues, which was very disappointing, but the staff was courteous and responsive.

Lots of stairs, but comfortable overall
Sugar High was a decent place for a weekend visit. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the house was well stocked for cooking, if needed. It rained, so we didn't spend much time on the outside decks. Fair warning that there were a lot of stairs to get from the parking area to the house. This made unpacking and packing a little rough. Our aging dog with bad hips didn't love the stairs either, and there was no place to walk her except to go up the stairs on onto the road, which thankfully, was very quiet. End of the summer did not provide any mountain views, with less leaves, the view might be better. It was about a 20-25 minute drive to Boone.
