Quantico Bungalow Marine Graduations FBI HQ Marines Potomac River Getaway
Welcome to this Bungalow on 4th built in 1925 in historic Q-town, opened in Oct 2021 as a short-term rental home. Walk just 5 min to Amtrak/VRE train to DC, 2 minutes a few houses down to the Potomac River - fishing, picnic, walking trails, etc. can be done here.
Just a street over (2-3 min) walk to Q-town's main street for friendly hometown food. You'll love this friendly old-fashioned town, which is now surrounded by a military installation on 3 sides and the Potomac River on the other side.
Need REAL ID to getor DOD ID to get to the town/property. Visitor pass can be obtained and details or their website sent after booking. Coming by train the house is within walking distance but there are no rental car places within the town and you would need to use the train for transport.

This property was just what we needed to break up our long drive. Two adults and two teens and we each had our own space to relax. Highly recommend staying here!
In town for an event on base, and this was the perfect spot. Clean, well stocked, great communication from owner. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Quantico for any reason.
House is very cute. Would be nice if area in back had a little area to sit. Even though there is a table back there we didn’t know if we could use it or belonged to rental property. Also the deadbolt on back door we could not get to lock has a regular door handle lock which is what we used. We were over all pleased with our stay.
Stayed for a retirement at the museum and the house worked great for us. We were also able to spend 2 days exploring DC via the Amtrak near the home. Everything we needed in a home for a 5 day stay!
This little property was great for my family as we were coming in for my son’s graduation. Exceptionally clean and maintained. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
very nice place to stay especially if you need to be in Quantico.. If you have two families there is also a garage apartment that rents right behind the house. both rentals share a common court yard, making it perfect for family get togethers.
My children and I stay here for my husbands OCS graduation. We absolutely loved it! The kids kept telling me they don’t ever want to leave and I really found our stay to be very welcoming, comfortable, and just downright cozy. I would definitely stay here again! It really feels like home away from home.
Such a sweet place to stay! Loved our time there this weekend!
Great communication with Jennifer, very clean, stocked with everything you need, beautiful location to experience the Potomac River with a small park to enjoy the river view! Our visit was for TBS Graduation. Easy access to DC!
2 couples fit nicely in the house. Great location on the base. Loved the coffee in the morning, strong wi-fi signal and overall cleanliness of the place. Only suggestion is that the shower floor could use some repair. Overall, we had a terrific stay and would happily recommend this house to others.
Great place to stay for military events. Very cute setup, clean and the iwner was very responsive to feedback or questions. Make sure to go get a guest pass from the visitor center before they close as that makes it way easier entering base/Quantico.
Lovely small home, exactly as photos show, very clean. Within walking distance of town and train depot. This was a busy stay for us parents attending Columbia graduation festivities in NYC via Amtrak and back to cottage for USMC TBS graduation.
We had a wonderful stay at the Bungalow on 4th. Having never been to the area and where to stay we were so happy with the home and the location. Came to run a 12k race (#runwiththemarines).
Our host was very responsive.
The home is located one street over from the Potomac River and the Main Street where you will find restaurants.
Our dog loved the park 5 houses down right on the river.
Highly recommend this home.
PSA- (not reflected on the host) if you are a foreign national, even from Canada please ensure you get visitors pass for your entire stay. You must allow ample time to get approval.
We had a great stay! Very convenient for visiting someone on base. We had no trouble getting a visitors pass, just bring the printed itinerary from Vrbo and identification. The house is very old, has a lot of character. Everything was organized and neatly labeled, the house had Everything we needed. We appreciated kids toys, kids dishes, step stool, etc. Host is very helpful and thoughtful. Even decorated for Christmas and left adorable Christmas things for us to use.

We needed a place to stay for a solemn event at Quantico. The thought of fighting the I95 crowd and risking not being on time concerned me. I searched for nearby hotels on Expedia and this property came up. I immediately called my wife in and said look at this, it is perfect- and so it was. The property is old (I think it was built in 1925) but has been updated inside. The home is very tastefully styled and made for a very comfortable stay. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Street parking is available right in front of the house. I even got to play fetch with the neighbor's dog which was nice because I was missing my two boys. The property owner reached out to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay. We had a wonderful relaxing stay and definitely would book again if we return to the area.

About the host

I am a single mom opening my first short-term rental property which I am hoping to use as an investment toward college and as a teaching/learning experience for my 8-year old daughter. I'm excited about this new venture and really enjoyed decorating and renovating this 1925 home and am really proud of how well it turned out. I have worked for DoD for over 20 years as a civilian and when the home is not rented I use it as a remote work location after dropping my daughter off at her micro-school in Triangle.
I live about 25 minutes from the property so I can come assist should any issue arise, but I am also just a phone call away.
Why they chose this property
This property is uniquely located in the Town of Quantico, the town was there before the military discovered Quantico and later purchased all the land around the town. It is the only Town that can never grow and the only Town surrounded by a military base.
This property has 2 buildings - the home that is available for a short-term rental, and a separate building with a garage/apartment which is across the yard available as a separate rental.
What makes this property unique
It is only steps away from the Potomac River - it is beautiful to go down to see the moon at night or watch boats out on the river during the day. There are plenty of picnic tables and a walking trail, and you can go out on the pier as well - and there is free wi-fi in the park.
Food is only a street over - go across the backyard and out the gate and you'll be in the alleyway. Just walk to the right and keep walking until you see an opening and you can then cut over to the main street where some great restaurants await! The VRE to DC is also very nice, and I kind of like hearing the train horn when I happen to notice it as it comes through town.
