About the host
Hosted by Rachel Lynn Thompson
I've lived most of my adult life in Florida where I have this beachside bungalow aka "home". I am also spending time in Tennessee where I have family ties, Firefly Farmhouse in Winchester and a historic railroad hotel, Franklin House in Cowan.
I am a mixed media painter and worked in Interior design for 25+ years. My heart is to redeem things by changing the energy and making them better. In my small way I create pleasant environments to be enjoyed by myself and others.
Why they chose this property
Ormond by the Sea is a jewel tucked in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax River. My place is about a half a block from either, so an easy walk to see the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the river. The late 50's-early 60's community smacks of a mid-century modern style combined with beachy. My place still has the old jalousie windows and cross ventilation abounds when you open them. The ocean can be heard from the back yard where you'll find a sitting area and pergola. The morning sunrise can be easily enjoyed from the front porch. This is simple, straightforward living with the ocean breezes in your midst.
What makes this property unique
I have a unique sense of style which abounds from the tool box in the kitchen to the original artwork throughout the house. I purchased the bungalow in 2016 and put alot of effort into giving it a fresh and artistic vibe. Our street is unique in that we have 2 dedicated parking spaces right at the beach so if you want to conserve steps rather than walking 1/2 block to the beach you can drive!
