## Neighborhood
Place Saint-Marc in Rouen is a landmark in this historic city in Normandy, France. Located in the Saint-Marc - Croix de Pierre - Saint-Nicaise district, the square is known for its vitality and friendly atmosphere, marked by a number of regular events.
The Saint-Marc market: This is one of Rouen's biggest markets, held several times a week (usually Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). The market attracts locals and visitors alike. You'll find a wide variety of local produce: fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, fish, clothes, antiques and other handicrafts. It's particularly popular for the quality of its fresh produce and the lively atmosphere.
As well as the food market, Piazza San Marco is also known for its regular flea markets. These events attract lovers of curiosities and old objects, with stalls selling antiques, old books, furniture and collectables.
Place Saint-Marc is surrounded by old buildings that bear witness to Rouen's rich past. Although not as touristy as other historic squares such as the Place du Vieux-Marché, it retains an authentic charm and neighbourhood atmosphere.
Around the square, there are a number of cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a break after a visit to the market or a stroll around the district. The establishments offer a great view of the bustling square.
Piazza San Marco is a popular meeting place. During the week, it is frequented by local residents who come to do their shopping at the market. At weekends, it attracts a wider public, particularly families and visitors passing through. The atmosphere is relaxed, especially on market mornings, when fruit and vegetable stalls colour the square and the smell of fresh produce wafts through the air.
Place Saint-Marc is therefore both a place of daily life for the people of Rouen and a point of attraction for those wishing to discover another facet of Rouen, outside the traditional tourist sites.
