A homely place to explore Crete
We had an amazing time in Crete, and this is partly due to our accomodation and Pantelis and his family. The apartment was bright, and well equipped and the fresh grapes and figs that we had from Pantelis was a lovely surprise when returning from our explorations. The only downside was there is no actual Aircon units in the apartment. This made it quite hard to adjust to the very warm nights, although we did get used to it eventually. The area is very quiet (apart from the occasional all night celebrations they have during the festival days!) and you are always made to feel welcome. The little square down the road is a great place to mingle with the locals and tourists alike, and the food is amazing, and was reasonably priced. The apartment is quite far from the sea, but the apartment does have a little pool that you can dip into to cool off!
Pantelis helped us right from the beginning, staying up to greet us in the middle of the night, as our plane was delayed, and so arrived very late. He then greeted our parents who came later, early hours of the morning. He organised a hire car and got it delivered to the apartment, and we could leave at the airport at the end of our holiday... brilliant! He also arranged for an extra bed for a friend who decided to visit us, and did this all with 'no problem's! The whole of our stay felt like we were friends just visiting, as opposed to paying guests.
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxed and quiet holiday, but can also explore and get a feel for this amazing island.
