About this property

Beautiful farmhouse between ocean, forests and rivers, animals welcome!

Come and recharge your batteries in the Lanvaux moors, 20 minutes from Vannes and 30 minutes from the Gulf of Morbihan. You will stay in an old farmhouse (19th century), equipped with all modern comforts, but with the charm of its life. Surrounded by forests, it dominates the valley where the Claie river flows. The view, unobstructed from East to West at 180 degrees, will allow you to enjoy the sunrise as well as its sunset. At night, it is the magic of the stars, no light source altering them.

The right wing of the house, totally independent, is intended for you with a private entrance.

ON THE GROUND FLOOR:

A living room equipped with a closed fireplace (we offer you enough to make a first blaze. For additional wood, count ten euros for ten oak logs in 50cm. Small wood offered), two sofas including a sofa bed, a coffee table, a sideboard (containing board games), a secretary (a comfortable office chair is available on request, so as not to clutter the room unnecessarily, otherwise a normal chair), fibre, a TV, a Freebox (with Netflix and Max subscriptions), a DVD/Blu Ray player, a mini-stereo and a fire extinguisher.

A fully equipped kitchen (oven, gas hob, microwave oven, fridge, mini-freezer, dishwasher, electric kettle, Italian coffee maker, raclette and fondue sets, crockery, cutlery...). A round table with four chairs for your indoor dining.

A bathroom with a large bathtub (towels and bath mats provided), a hairdryer, .

Separate toilets.

And access to the garden (see below).

The washing machine is located in the tool shed located immediately on the right as you leave the house (garden side). Two drying racks, one outside and one inside the tool shed are at your disposal.

UPSTAIRS:

Two twin bedrooms: one with a 190/140 bed, the other with a Queen size bed
Bed linen and duvets provided. The beds will be made on arrival.

Basic necessities. PGJyPg

You will have free access to its thousand square metres of garden. A glass table, chairs and a barbecue await you. At the bottom of the garden, in the shade of the three hundred-year-old oaks, you can play Breton shuffleboard (board and shuffleboard provided) or boules, even if the ground is uneven because of weed roots (balls not provided), or simply relax on one of the three canvas deckchairs. A small table and two wooden chairs are also located in the garden In the garden grow small fruit trees (rowan, strawberry, currant trees, etc.), old fruit trees (walnut, Japanese quince, peach trees (3), apple trees (2), wild cherry) and others in the making (pear trees, plum trees, cherry trees, hazelnut trees). You will see and/or hear the song of many birds (robins,, woodpeckers, blackbirds, buzzards, etc.). If you have breakfast in the garden, you may hear Stéphane's laying hens for a few minutes, when they go out to frolic after a night sheltered from foxes and weasels, usually around 11am. They are more than a hundred metres from the house and there are no cockerels, so nothing off-putting.

Your pets are welcome, but important information: the grounds, although surrounded by hedges, are not enclosed (no fence).

The small road that borders the house forms a loop, serving only three neighbours, so that silence reigns almost all day long.

You can take many walks right away when you leave the house. A path descends into the forest, then runs along the Claie river, where you can fish for trout if you feel like it.

The farmhouse is located halfway between the villages of Trédion and Saint-Guyomard (5 minutes from both), with mini-markets, bakeries, bars and restaurants. And 10 minutes from Elven, where you will find many shops, including an Intermarché, an organic shop (where you can taste the products of the local farmers), a market on Friday mornings and the Aquagolfe, a fully glazed aquatic complex with a 25m pool (four swimming lanes), another with massage jets, a water slide for children, a sauna and a hammam).PGJyPg
If necessary, there is always someone from the family present on the farmhouse, at your disposal. Discretion guaranteed.

The farmhouse is located on the edge of the Regional Natural Park of the Gulf of Morbihan, in a department of infinite wealth.

There is Vannes, a twenty-minute drive away: its ramparts and its magnificent "French-style" gardens, its outdoor market in the heart of the historic centre (on Wednesday and Saturday mornings), its "fish market" dating from the end of the Middle Ages and dedicated to seafood, its marina and of course the ocean, the Gulf and its myriad of islands and fine sandy beaches.
There are a thousand things to tell about the wonders of the Gulf, but also around...
For example, Damgan, its spit of sand almost five kilometres long, its delicious oysters from Pénerf, named after the river that mixes with the sea, an estuary with landscapes oscillating between old salt marshes, wet meadows and coastline. This Natura 2000 classified site is a paradise for birds and for nature lovers. Damgan is also a famous place for fishing on foot and for fishing in general. Don't miss the Rhuys peninsula which extends a little further, passing through Sarzeau, it closes the southern part of the Gulf. You can visit the superb castle of Suscinio, make a stop at the port of Crouesty to visit the Petit Mont cairn and then Port-Navalo and its lighthouse. You will see just opposite, the other gateway to the Gulf: the Pointe de Kerpenhir, and between the two, you will be able to measure the power of the current of the Jument, the second strongest in Europe.

During high tides, go to Locmariaquer and compose your own seafood platter: clams, oysters, bouquets, crabs... You will see panoramas that are among the most beautiful in the Gulf. It is also right next door, in Carnac, that you will find the famous alignments of 2934 menhirs.
If you have just been there for the walk, don't hesitate to go for a drink or a terrace in the port of Saint-Goustan, on the ria of Auray, in the town of the same name. Here again a place full of charm.

There are many must-sees in the Gulf: the passage of Saint-Armel and the peninsula of Villeneuve, the Pointe du Bill, that of Arradon, Port Blanc and its stone arch, from where you can take the shuttle to visit the island of Moines, nicknamed the pearl of the Gulf, with its secret coves and white sandy beaches. It is the largest island in the Gulf.

Now, let's start again from the Croc farmhouse, where you will be staying. A few minutes away by car (or by bike), you can discover an exceptional and still little-known place: the cairns of the Coëby forest. More than 6000 years old, they form an impressive megalithic necropolis that was only discovered in 2009 and which is far from having revealed all its secrets. Also a few minutes away, "Les étangs aux biches", just after the castle of Trédion, are particularly popular with families, who come to picnic on the grass as soon as the sun shines. There are playgrounds for children, bowling greens, fitness trails and hiking trails going deep into the forests of Lanvaux.

Twenty minutes away by car is the beautiful city of Malestroit, born in the 11th century, in the running this year for the title of "favourite village of the French". Place du Bouffay, pleasantly seated on the terrace of a café, you will only have to look up to admire the vestiges of a past marked by the Crusades and a flourishing trade. You can then walk along the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal or the Oust, since the two meet here. It is an ideal place to cycle, or rest on the shady benches, watching the barges and pleasure boats pass through the locks. It is also an ideal place for fishermen. We also highly recommend the market, on Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Still about twenty minutes away, but this time in the direction of Rennes, is Ploërmel. The small beach of "Lac au Duc" is the ideal place to cool off in fresh water on hot summer days. Between the lake and the 9-hole golf course (for amateurs), you can walk the hydrangea circuit, the symbol flower of Brittany. This unique circuit in France includes 5500 hydrangeas of 550 different varieties!

And how can we finish this long presentation of our favourite corners (but we still have so many to discover...) without saying a word about Paimpont and the famous and magnificent forest of Brocéliande, twenty kilometres after Ploërmel. In this Mecca of Arthurian legends hovers the presence of Merlin the Enchanter, the fairy Viviane and Lancelot du Lac. The largest forest massif in Brittany covering more than 11000 hectares, you will be able to rub shoulders with a large number of remarkable trees and unforgettable places. The 11 km of the Landes de Gurwant hiking circuit will take you to several legendary sites not to be missed: the castle of Trécesson, the Hôtié de Viviane or the Tomb of the Giants. The Barenton fountain is one of the most legendary sites in the forest. Lost in the depths of the woods, it is here that Merlin the Enchanter is said to have met Viviane. The water in this fountain sparkles with so-called magic bubbles. It is said to cure ringworm, soothe the mad and help young women find a husband...
