Nice property, poor hosting experience
My family has stayed at Redfish Village about twenty times and we love it there.
The unit we rented was fine but unfortunately we encountered problems with the facility due to scheduled maintenance.
When we arrived we could not get into our unit due to extensive painting that was being done to the hallway floor. We searched around for about an hour and found out that you could walk around the painting but that all elevators were not working. It meant going to the far end of the building each time we wanted to enter our unit and walking up four flights of stairs with all our luggage. We called the host and learned that there would be no elevator access for our entire stay. That meant each time we went to the beach we had to lug our cooler and stuff up and down four flights of stairs and I have a bad knee. The host offered to move us to another unit on the second floor but also said it was with a different management company and we were on our own if we moved. We opted to stay.
The unit is fine and Redfish is great but the lack of planning on the part of the host was very disappointing. The building manager Justin told us all owners and management companies had been appraised of this maintenance work multiple times and that elevators would be out of service.
We requested a partial refund and was denied as the host said they offered to move us to another unit and we refused. We will be back to Redfish but not to this unit or any other units this firm manages.
